The Will of Mary Minord

 

In the name of God amen I Mary Minord being in good health of body and sound and pfect minde and memory praise bee therefore given to Almighty God for the Same doe make ordaine and constitute this my psent last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) ffirst and principally I comend my soule into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through the merits death and passion of my saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sinnes and to inherit everlasting life and my body I comit to the Earth to bee decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as touching the disposition of such temporall estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose as followeth Imprimis I will that all my debts and funerall charges shall bee paid and discharged Item I give devise and bequeath unto my deare and loveing Cousen John Maynord the Sume of ffourty shillings to buy him a ring Item I give devise and bequeath unto my sonne John Maynord the Sume of Twenty Pounds when he comes to the Age of One and Twenty yeares in case hee soe long live but if not to bee equally divided amongst my Children hereafter named Item I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Minord the Sume of Twenty Pounds more to bee paid to her at the the Age of One and Twenty years or the day of Mariage which shall first happen and in case shee dye before ….that age …. to bee equally divided amongst my Children hereafter named Item I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Jane Minord the Sume of Twenty Pounds more to bee paid to her at the the Age of One and Twenty years or the day of Mariage which shall first happen ………. to bee equally divided amongst my Children as aforesaid Item I give devise and bequeath unto my sonne William Maynord the Sume of Twenty Pounds more to be paid whenever he come to the Age of One and Twenty yeares in case hee soe long live but if not to bee equally divided amongst them that live Item I give devise and bequeath unto John Ward of the Town of Northton in the County of Northton Cordwainer the sume of Thirty Pounds to take my son William an apprentice for Eleaven yeares to teach him the trade of a Cordwainer and take care that hee shall not want for Apparrell or Victualls as is Sufficient for an apprentice of that trade And in case the said John Ward dye before the Eleaven yeares is expired then his heires and assignes to provide and take care to putt him to another master of his trade whilest the Eleaven yeares is expired in case hee is not Master of his trade And if in case the said William Maynord dies before the Eleaven yeares is expired then to the use and behoof of the said John Ward his heires and assignes for ever and to and for noe other intent use and purpose whatsoever Item I give and bequeath Eighteene pounds more for the raiseing of the said Sumes in case any trouble should arise or happen for the getting thereof but in case noe trouble happenthen to bee equally divided amongst my children And my will is that none of the said Sumes of money to bee paid whilest the death of Martha Tullakeene Mother of the said Mary Minord then to be devided as above mentioned Item I doe constitute appoynt and make my loveing Cousen John Maynord of the Towne of Northton aforesd Gentleman and William Peach of…full Executors of this my last Will and testamt In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this ffive and Twentieth Day of May in the third yeare of the Reigne of our soveraigne Lord James the second by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland King defender of the faith Annoq dm 1687
