In The Name of God Amen, I Martha Miles Relict, sole Executrix and residuary legatee of the late William Miles of Givachymryson in the parish of Kilrhedyn in the County of Carmarthen, Widow, do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in Manner following.-

  First, I give and devise to my oldest Son James Miles, all that my whole Freehold Messuage and Tenement called Pengwernganol, alias

Place Pengwern situate, lying and being in the parish of Kenarth in the said County of Carmarthen, to have and to hold to my said Son James Miles his Heirs and Assigns forever, subject nevertheless to the Conditions and Legacies following; That is to say, that Whereas there is now the Sum of One Hundred Pounds bequeathed by a Relation, sometime since dead, and payable at the Death of me the said Martha Miles, and to be equally Divided Share and Share alike among my Children, Reference being made to a Deed bearing Date the twenty first of July 1700 and forty seven will more fully appear: which said sum is now in the Hands of my said Son James Miles. My Will is, that my said Son James Miles shall make up the Share and Part of my Daughter Martha wife of Richard Thomas of Havod in the parish of Clydey in the County of Pembroke to the full sum of forty pounds her Part of the above Legacy included. Which said Sum shall not be required finally to be paid in less time than two years next after my Decease, to the said Martha my Daughter or her said Husband. I give and bequeath unto my Son Nathaniel Miles the sum of twenty one Pounds his Share of the one hundred above mentioned included, to be paid immediately after my Decease. I likewise give unto my Son Lewis Miles The Sum of twenty one pounds being his Share also of the above hundred included, to be paid him within one year after my Decease. I also give And bequeath unto my Grand-Daughter Mary Hughes the Sum of twenty five pounds being her Mother’s Share of the above hundred included, when she arrives at the Age of twenty one years and not before, and should any of my Children object to give her the Portion or Share of her Mother my Will is that She may have the above Legacy of twenty five pounds notwithstanding all the above Legacies I charge my said Estate and my said oldest Son James Miles with, on the Discharge of which he may peaceably and undisturbedly enjoy the said Messuage, his Heirs and Assigns for ever. The following Legacies I charge on my Executor hereafter named:-

That is to say, I give and bequeath unto John Miles Son of my said Husband by a former wife, one Newcastle Teal of good and marketable Barley, the Christmas next after my Decease. I also give and bequeath to my said Son Lewis Miles two good cart loads of unthrashed Corn, one of Barley and the other of Oats the second Harvest next after my Decease. All the Rest and Residue of my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever, and of what Nature, kind, or quality soever the same may be, and not herein before given and disposed of, after payment of my Debts, and that part of my Legacies I have imposed on my Executorwith funeral Expenses, I do give and bequeath unto my Son Joshua Miles, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, to and for his andtheir own use and Benefit for ever; and I do hereby constitute and appoint him the said Joshua Miles sole Executor, and residuary Legatee of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this fourth Day of March, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety four.
