This is the last will and testament of me
Henry Methold of Worthing in the county of Sussex esquire I give
and devise unto my brother Edward Methold late of the Nineteenth
Lancers Esquire and William Hugh Dennett of Worthing aforesaid
gentleman their heirs executors administrators and assigns all
that my freehold messuage or dwelling house hereditaments and
premises situate in Worthing aforesaid and now in my own
occupation with all and every their rights members and
appurtenances and also all and every my household goods
furniture plate linen and china which shall be in and about my
said dwelling house in Worthing at the time of my decease To
have and to hold the said messuage or dwelling house
appurtenances and premises and household goods furniture plate
linen and china unto and to the use of the said Edward Methold
and William Hugh Dennett their heirs executors administrators
and assigns according to the different nature and quality of the
same respectively upon the trusts hereinafter mentioned that is
to say upon Trust during the life of Jemima Twine the daughter
of William Twine of Worthing aforesaid and Anne his wife and who
is now residing in my dwelling place in Worthing aforesaid to
pay the rents issues and profits of the same unto or permit and
suffer the same to be received used held occupied and enjoyed by
the said Jemima Twine during her life for her sole separate and
peculiar use and benefit independently and exclusively of any
husband with whom she may happen to intermarry without being in
anywise subject or liable to his control debts interference or
engagements she keeping the same in good repair and insuring
against loss or damage by fire and paying all taxes and
outgoings whatsoever and I direct that her receipts for the said
rents and profits shall be good and effectual releases and
discharges for the same and not withstanding her coverture and
from and after the decease of the said Jemima Twine I direct
that the said Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett the
survivor of them and the heirs of such survivor and their or his
assigns shall stand and be possessed of and interested in the
said messuage or dwelling house hereditaments and premises upon
the trusts hereinafter declared of and concerning the same and I
direct that as soon as conveniently may be after my decease and
Inventory shall be taken by the said Edward Methold and William
Hugh Dennett or the survivor of them or the executors or
administrators of such survivor of all and singular the
household goods furniture plate linen and china in or about my
said dwelling house in Worthing aforesaid at the time of my
decease and that two copies shall be made and signed by the said
Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett or the survivor of them
or the executors or administrators of such survivor and by the
said Jemima Twine one whereof shall be kept by the said Edward
Methold and William Hugh Dennett or the survivor of them or the
executors or administrators of such survivor and the other by
the said Jemima Twine and I do hereby direct that the said
Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett and the survivor of them
and the executors administrators of such survivor shall and may
from time to time during the life of the said Jemima Twine
inspect and examine into the state of my said household goods
furniture plate linen and china and shall cause such reparations
restorations and replacings to be made thereof as they or he
shall think necessary by and out of the rents issues and profits
of my said messuage or dwelling house in Worthing aforesaid I
give devise and bequeath unto the said Edward Methold and
William Hugh Dennett their executors and administrators and
assigns all that my leasehold messuage or dwelling house and
premises situate and being no 17 in Hans Place Sloane Street in
the parish of Saint Luke Chelsea in the county of Middlesex
which I purchased of the Reverend Mr Vivian To hold the same
unto the said Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett their
executors administrators

and assigns for and during all the residue
and remainder of the term for years which shall be to some and
unexpired of or in the same at the time of my decease upon and
for the trusts intents and purposes and with under and subject
to the powers provisos and declarations hereinafter given or
expressed containing the same that is to say upon trust in the
first place that they the said Edward Methold and William Hugh
Dennett and the survivor of them and the executors or
administrators of such survivor and their or his assigns do and
shall by and out of the rents issues and profits of the said
leasehold premises from time to time duly pay satisfy and
perform the rent covenants and agreements reserved and contained
on the tenant or lessees part or by his or their executors and
administrators to be paid performed or observed and upon further
trust that they the said Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett
and the survivor of them and the executors administrators and
assigns of such survivor and their and his assigns do and shall
(subject to the trust hereinbefore declared concerning the same)
stand and be possessed of the said leasehold premises upon Trust
during the life of the said Jemima Twine if my estate and
interest of and in the said leasehold premises shall so long
continue to pay the rents issues and profits of the same unto or
permit and suffer the same to be received used held and occupied
by the said Jemima Twine during her life for her sole separate
and peculiar use and benefit independently and exclusively of
any husband with whom she may happen to intermarry without being
in anywise subject or liable to control debts interference or
engagements and her receipts for the said rents and profits
shall be good and effectual releases and discharges for the same
notwithstanding her coverture and from and after the decease of
the said Jemima Twine I direct the said Edward Methold and
William Hugh Dennett and the survivor of them and the executors
administrators or assigns of such survivor to stand possessed of
the said leasehold premises upon the trusts hereafter declared
of and concerning the same I give and bequeath to the said
Jemima Twine a legacy of three hundred pounds sterling to be
paid by my executors hereinafter named within two months after
my decease I also give and bequeath to the said Jemima Twine all
my wines and spirits in my dwelling house in Worthing aforesaid
at the time of my decease for her own use and benefit I give and
bequeath to the said Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett
their executors administrators and assigns the sum of two
thousand pounds sterling upon trust that they the said Edward
Methold and William Hugh Dennett and the survivor of them and
the executors and administrators of such survivor and their or
his assigns do and shall lay out and invest the sum in their or
his names or name in the purchase of any of the public stocks or
funds of Great Britain or at interest on any Government or real
securities in England and from time to time do and shall alter
vary transpose and transfer the said trust moneys stocks funds
and securities for or into other stocks funds or securities of
the like nature when and as often as they or he shall think fit
and I do hereby direct that every such calling in sale
alteration variation or transfer shall be made at the direction
and of the proper authority of the said Edward Methold and
William Hugh Dennett and the survivor of them and the executors
administrators or assigns of such survivor And I do hereby
declare that the said Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett
and the survivor of them and the executors administrators or
assigns of such survivor shall stand and be possessed of or
interested in the said trust moneys stocks funds and securities
and the interest dividends and annual produce thereof
respectively upon Trust to pay the said interest dividends and
annual produce unto or permit the same to be received and taken
by the said Jemima Twine during her life and from and
immediately after her decease the said trust monies stocks funds
and securities and the interest dividends and annual produce
thereof shall remain and be upon the trusts hereinafter

expressed and declared of and concerning
the same I give and devise unto the said Edward Methold and
William Hugh Dennett all and every the manors messuages lands
tenements and hereditaments parts shares or proportions of any
manors messuages lands tenements and hereditaments and all other
the real estates whatsoever and wheresoever of or to which I or
any person or persons in trust for me am is or are seized or
entitled for all estate of freehold and inheritance or of
freehold only or which are of the nature of copyhold or
customary tenure in possession reversion remainder or expectancy
and of which I have power to dispose of or appoint by this my
will with their rights privileges and appurtenances except my
said freehold estate hereinbefore devised and except such
estates as are vested in me in trust or by way of mortgage with
their rights members or appurt[enance]s To hold the same unto
and for the use of the said Edward Methold and William Hugh
Dennett their heirs and assigns according to the nature and
quality thereof respectively and I give and bequeath all and
every my leasehold estates lands and tenements and all my goods
chattels moneys and securities for money debts and other
personal estate and effects of what kind soever of in or to
which I or any person or persons in trust for me shall be
entitled at the time of my decease except such part or parts
thereof as I have disposed of specifically or otherwise by this
my will unto the said Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett
their executors administrators and assigns according to the
nature and quality thereof respectively and I declare that my
said last mentioned real and personal estates are so devised and
bequeathed and that my said real and personal estates
hereinbefore firstly devised and bequeathed for the use and
benefit of the said Jemima Twine during her life shall after the
decease of the said Jemima Twine be held by the said Trustees or
Trustee for the time being of this will upon the trusts intents
and purposes and with under and subject to the powers provisos
and declarations hereinafter expressed and contained of and
concerning the same respectively that is to say upon Trust that
the said Trustees or Trustee for the time being of this my will
do and shall with all convenient speed after my decease call in
and convert into money all such part of my said personal estate
as is not comprised in the trust hereinbefore declared to or in
favor of the said Jemima Twine for her life and as shall not
consist of money or Government securities stocks or funds or
mortgages and do and shall with all convenient speed after the
decease of the said Jemima Twine call in and convert into money
such part of my said personal estate as is comprised in the
trusts hereinbefore declared to or in favor of the said Jemima
Twine during her life and do and shall with all convenient speed
after my decease absolutely sell or dispose of such part of my
said freehold leasehold and real estates as is not comprised in
the trusts hereinbefore declared to or in favour of the said
Jemima Twine for her life and do and shall with all convenient
speed after the decease of the said Jemima Twine absolutely sell
or dispose of all such parts of my said freehold leasehold and
real estate as is comprised in the trusts hereinbefore declared
to or in favour of the said Jemima Twine during her life either
entirely and altogether or in parcels by public auction or
private contract to any person or persons willing to become the
purchaser or purchasers thereof respectively for such price or
prices or sum or sums of money as to the said Trustees or
Trustee shall seem reasonable and for promoting and facilitating
such sale or sales do and shall enter into make and execute all
such contracts covenants agreements conveyances surrenders
assurances acts deeds matters and things which to my said
Trustees or Trustee shall seem reasonable and I declare that the
receipt or receipts of the said Trustees or Trustee for the time
being of this my will for any money payable under this my will
shall effectually discharge the person or persons paying the
same from being answerable or accountable for the misapplication
or nonapplication thereof or of any part thereof from being
obliged to see to the application thereof or of any part thereof
or to inquire as to the necessity or proofs of any sale that may
be made by virtue of this my will and that no person

purchasing any freehold or leasehold
estates or any part thereof shall be bound or obliged to
ascertain or inquire into the necessity propriety or expediency
of any sales or sale and I declare that the said Trustees or
Trustee shall from time to time stand and be possessed of and
interested in the money to arise from the sale or sales
hereinbefore directed to be made of my real and leasehold
estates and to arise and be produced from that part of any
personal estate which I have directed to be converted into money
and of and in xxxx government securities stocks or funds and
mortgages of or to which I shall be possessed or entitled at the
time of my decease and of and in the rents issues and profits
interest dividends and annual proceeds thereof until the same
shall be respectively disposed of and converted into money or
otherwise howsoever excepting such parts thereof respectively in
which the said Jemima Twine has a life interest under the
bequests hereinbefore contained during her lifetime and after
her decease then in such parts of my real and personal estate
wherein she has a life interest as aforesaid upon trust to
divide the same into eight equal parts or shares and to pay two
of such parts or shares to Henry Twine the son of the said
Jemima Twine who was baptised in the parish of Sidlesham in the
county of Sussex on or about the eighth day of November one
thousand eight hundred and thirty five provided he shall live to
attain the age of twenty one years two other such parts or
shares to Edward Twine another son of the said Jemima Twine and
who was baptised at Broadwater in the said county of Sussex on
or about the fifth day of June one thousand eight hundred and
forty two provided he shall live to attain the age of twenty one
years and the remaining four of such parts or shares into and
amongst Mary Ann Twine Georgina Twine Maria Twine and Catherine
Twine the four daughters of the said Jemima Twine and who were
respectively baptised at Broadwater aforesaid on the fourth day
of February one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight the
eighth day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty and
the twenty fourth day of September one thousand eight hundred
and forty and the sixteenth day of February one thousand eight
hundred and forty five provided they shall respectively live to
attain the age of twenty one years provided always and I declare
that if any one or more of the said children of the said Jemima
Twine shall die under the age of twenty one years then as well
the original share or shares of the said child or children so
dying as the share or shares which by virtue of this present
proviso shall have survived or accrued to him her or them of and
in the said trust funds shall …. ….. to the other or others of
the said children and if more than one in equal shares as
tenants in common and I declare that during the minority of any
of the said children of the said Jemima Twine the said Trustees
or Trustee for the time being of this my will shall appropriate
……out part of the interest dividends and annual produce of the
presumptive share or shares to which the child or children so
under age shall for the time being be entitled under the trusts
aforesaid for the maintenance and education of such child or
children in such manner as they the said trustees or trustee
shall think proper and shall accumulate in any of the said
stocks funds and securities hereinbefore mentioned the residue
of the interest dividends and annual produce of the share or
shares to which the said child or children so under age shall
for the time being be presumptively entitled under the trusts
aforesaid and shall stand and be possessed of the respective ………
upon the trusts declared by this my will of and concerning the
……. ……. which such accumulations shall have respectively ……… And
I also declare that it shall be lawful for the said Trustees or
Trustee for the time being of this my will at any time or times
to apply any part or parts not exceeding one half of the
presumptive share or shares to which the said child or children
of the said Jemima Twine shall be for the time being
presumptively entitled under the trusts aforesaid … the said

and securities for and towards his her or
their preferment or advancement in the world or otherwise for
his her or their benefit and I do hereby declare that the
provision hereby made for the said daughters of the said Jemima
Twine is intended for their sole separate and peculiar use and
benefit independently and exclusively of any husband with whom
they may respectively happen to intermarry without being in
anywise subject or liable to his control debts interference or
engagements and that their respective receipts whether they
shall be single or married shall be good and effectual
discharges for the same and I do hereby direct that until the
said Catherine Twine shall attain the age of twenty one years it
shall and may be lawful to and for the said Edward Methold and
William Hugh Dennett and the survivor of them and the executors
and administrators of such survivor and their or his assigns to
lay out and invest all or any of the said trust funds in their
or his names or name in the purchase of any of the public stocks
and funds of Great Britain or at interest on any government or
real securities in England and from time to time to alter vary
transpose and transfer the said trust monies stocks funds and
securities for or into other stocks funds and securities of the
like nature when and so often as they or he shall think fit and
I do hereby direct that every such calling in sale alteration
variation or transfer shall be made at the direction and of the

Dennett or the survivor of them or the executors administrators
and assigns of such survivor I give devise and bequeath unto the
said Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett their executors
administrators and assigns according to the nature and quality
thereof all of the estates of which I am a trustee to be held or
disposed of accordingly I appoint the said Edward Methold
William Hugh Dennett and Jemima Twine the executors and
executrix of this my will and I appoint the said Edward Methold
William Hugh Dennett and Jemima Twine and the survivors and
survivor of them Guardians and Guardian of the said Henry Twine
Mary Ann Twine Georgiana Twine Edward Twine Maria Twine and
Catherine Twine until they shall attain their respective ages of
twenty one years I desire to be buried in the parish of Goring
in case I should be in Worthing provided always and I hereby
declare it to be my will that when my said trustees or trustee
their heirs executors administrators or assigns or either of
them or any future trustees or trustee to be appointed by virtue
of this present proviso shall die or be desirous of being
discharged from the aforesaid trusts or refuse decline or become
incapable to act therein before the same shall be fully
performed xxx and in every such case the surviving and
continuing trustee shall as soon as conveniently may be by some
deed or deeds to be attested by two or more credible witnesses
from time to time nominate substitute and appoint some other
person or persons to be a trustee in the place of him so dying
desirous of being discharged or refusing declining or becoming
incapable to act as aforesaid and that when and as often as any
new trustee shall be nominated and appointed all the trust
estates monies securities and effects which shall then be vested
in such trustee so dying desirous of being discharged or
refusing declining or becoming incapable to act as aforesaid
shall thereupon with all convenient speed be conveyed assigned
and transferred or otherwise assured to and in such manner that
the same may be legally and effectually vested in such new
trustee jointly with the surviving and continuing trustee or
solely as the case may require upon the trusts hereinbefore
expressed and declared concerning the same or such of them as
may then be subsisting and capable of taking effect and that
every such new trustee shall and may act in the management and
execution of the said trusts as fully and effectually to all
intents xxx and purposes whatsoever and with all such powers and
authorities as if he had been originally appointed by this my
will and I also declare that the said trustees hereby appointed
or to be appointed as aforesaid and

each of them shall severally be charged
and chargeable only for such monies as they respectively shall
actually receive by virtue of the trusts hereby reposed in them
notwithstanding their or any of their giving or signing or
joining in giving or signing any receipt or receipts for the
sake of conformity and that the one of them shall not be
accountable for the other of them but each of them only for his
own acts deeds receipts and defaults and also that it shall be
lawful for them by and out of the monies which shall come to
their respective hands by virtue of the trusts aforesaid to
retain to and reimburse themselves and himself respectively and
also to allow to their co trustee all costs charges damages or
expenses which they or any of them shall or may incur suffer
sustain expend disburse be at or be put unto in or about the
execution of the aforesaid trusts or in relation thereto and
particularly that the said William Hugh Dennett shall be allowed
and paid his professional charges as a Solicitor for all
business done by him in relation thereto notwithstanding I have
appointed him to be such trustee as aforesaid In witness whereof
I the said Henry Methold have to this my last will and testament
and to a duplicate hereof each contained in ten sheets of paper
subscribed my hand the twentieth day of March one thousand eight

the said Henry Methold the testator and signed by him as and for
his last will and testament in the presence of us present at the
same time who in his presence and in the presence of each other

This is a Codicil to the will of me Henry
Methold of Worthing in the County of Sussex esquire which will
bears date the twentieth day of March one thousand eight hundred
and forty five whereas since the date and execution of my said
will Henry Twine mentioned in my said will has died and Jemima
Twine also mentioned in my said will has given birth to four
other children namely John Twine who was baptised at Broadwater
in the said county of Sussex on or about the twenty sixth day of
April one thousand eight hundred and forty six Charles Twine who
was baptised at Broadwater aforesaid on or about the twenty
eighth day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty
seven Ellen Twine who was baptised at Broadwater aforesaid on or
about the twenty fourth day of March one thousand eight hundred
and fifty and Charlotte Twine who was baptised at Broadwater
aforesaid on or about the sixth day of July one thousand eight
hundred and fifty one and whereas I have in and by my said will
given devised and bequeathed unto my brother Edward Methold and
to William Hugh Dennett all my real and personal estates
(excepting such parts of my personal estate as are specifically
bequeathed by my said will) subject as to certain parts thereof
to the life estate therein of the said Jemima Twine upon Trust
to divide the same into eight equal parts or shares and to pay
the same unto the six children of the said Jemima Twine as
therein mentioned Now I do hereby revoke the said trust and do
hereby declare that the said real and personal estates are so
given devised and bequeathed by my said will unto the said
Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett their heirs executors
administrators and assigns according to the different natures
and qualities thereof upon Trust to divide the same into twelve
equal parts or shares and to pay two of such twelve parts or
shares to Edward Twine in my said will named provided he shall
live to attain the age of twenty one years two other of such
parts or shares to the said John Twine provided he shall live to
attain the age of twenty one years two other such parts or
shares to the said Charles Twine provided he shall live to
attain the age of twenty one years and the remaining six of such
parts unto and equally amongst Mary Ann Twine Georgiana Twine
Maria Twine and Catherine Twine respectively named

in my said will and the said Ellen Twine
and Charlotte Twine and I do hereby declare that the clauses and
provisions contained in my said will of survivorship and xxx and
for the maintenance education and advancement of the children of
the said Jemima Twine shall respectively apply to and concern as
well the said John Twine Charles Twine Ellen Twine and Charlotte
Twine as the said Edward Twine Mary Ann Twine Georgiana Twine
Maria Twine and Catherine Twine and that the words and
expressions child and children mentioned and contained in such
clauses and provisions shall mean and comprise any one or all of
the said children of the said Jemima Twine named in my said will
and this codicil as the case may be and I do hereby also declare
that the provision so made by me for the said Mary Ann Twine
Georgiana Twine Maria Twine Catherine Twine Ellen Twine and
Charlotte Twine is intended for their sole separate and peculiar
use and benefit independently and exclusively with any husband
with whom they may respectively happen to intermarry without
being in anywise subject or liable to this control debts
interference or engagements and that their respective receipts
whether they shall be single or married shall be good and
effectual discharges for the same I revoke the power contained
in my will enabling the said Edward Methold and William Hugh
Dennett until the said Catherine Twine shall attain the age of
twenty one to invest and from time to time to vary and transpose
the trust funds comprised in my said will in manner therein
mentioned and in lieu thereof I direct that until the said
Charlotte Twine shall attain the age of twenty one years it
shall and my be lawful to and for the said Edward Methold and
William Hugh Dennett and the survivor of them and the executors
and administrators of such survivor and their or his assigns to
lay out and invest all or any of the said trust funds in their
or his names or name in the purchase of any of the public stocks
or funds of Great Britain or at interest on any Government or
real securities in England and from time to time to alter vary
transpose and transfer the said trust monies stocks funds and
securities for or into other stocks funds and securities of the
like nature when and so often as they or he shall think fit and
I do hereby direct that every such calling in sale alteration
variation or transfer shall be made at the discretion and of the
proper authority of the said Edward Methold and William Hugh
Dennett or the survivor of them or the executors administrators
or assigns of such survivor I appoint the said Edward Methold
William Hugh Dennett and Jemima Twine and the survivors and
survivor of them Guardians and Guardian of the persons of the
said John Twine Charles Twine Ellen Twine and Charlotte Twine
until they shall attain their respective ages of twenty one
years In all other respects I confirm my said will In witness
thereof I the said Henry Methold have to this codicil and to a
duplicate thereof each contained in two sheets of paper
subscribed my hand this twenty second day of December one

This is a further Codicil to the Will of
me Henry Methold of Worthing in the County of Sussex esquire
which will bears date the twentieth day of March one thousand
eight hundred and forty five whereas in and by my said will I
gave devised and bequeathed unto my brother Edward Methold and
to William Hugh Dennett their heirs executors administrators and
assigns all my real and personal estates (excepting such parts
of my personal estate as are specifically bequeathed by my said
will) subject as to certain parts thereof to the life estate
therein of Jemima Twine mentioned in my said will

upon Trust (amongst other things) to sell
my freehold leasehold and real estates and to reinvest into
money such parts of my personal estate as should not consist of
money and to divide the monies arising from my said real and
personal estates into eight equal parts or shares and to pay the
same unto the six children of the said Jemima Twine as therein
mentioned and whereas in and by a Codicil to my said will
bearing date the twenty second day of December one thousand
eight hundred and fifty two I revoked the said trust declared by
my said will for the division of the money arising from my said
real and personal estates into eight equal parts and for the
payment of the same in the manner declared by my said will and
did thereby declare that my said real and personal estates were
so given devised and bequeathed by my said will unto the said
Edward Methold and William Hugh Dennett their heirs executors
administrators and assigns upon Trust to divide the same into
twelve equal parts of shares and to pay the same to the nine
children of the said Jemima Twine mentioned in my said Codicil
in the shares and proportions therein also mentioned and whereas
since the date and execution of my said codicil the said Jemima
Twine has given birth to another child namely Florence Mary
Twine who was baptised at Broadwater in the said County of
Sussex on or about the fourth day of December on thousand eight
hundred and fifty three and whereas it is my desire and
intention that all the ten children of the said Jemima Twine
mentioned in my said former codicil and this codicil shall have
and take equal benefit under my said will Now therefore I do
hereby revoke the said trusts declared by my said Will and
Codicil respectively for the division of the money to arise from
the sale and conversion of my real and personal estates into
eight and twelve equal parts and the payment of the same amongst
the children of the said Jemima Twine in the manner and
proportions declared in the said will and codicil respectively
and do hereby declare that instead thereof the said Trustees or
Trustee of my said will shall stand and be possessed of and
interested in the money to arise from the sale or sales directed
by my said will to be made of my real and leasehold estates and
to arise and be produced from my personal estates upon trust to
divide the same into ten equal parts or shares and to pay the
same unto and equally amongst Edward Twine John Twine Charles
Twine Mary Ann Twine Georgiana Twine Maria Twine Catherine Twine
Ellen Twine and Charlotte Twine respectively mentioned in my
said last codicil and the said Florence Mary Twine provided they
shall respectively live to attain the age of twenty one years
and I do hereby declare that the clauses and provisions
contained in my said will of survivorship and xxx and for the
maintenance education and advancement of the children of the
said Jemima Twine shall respectively apply to and concern as
well the said John Twine Charles Twine Ellen Twine Charlotte
Twine and Florence Mary Twine as the said Edward Twine Mary Ann
Twine Georgiana Twine Maria Twine and Catherine Twine and that
the words and expressions child and children mentioned and
contained in such clauses and provisions shall mean and comprise
any one or all of the said children of the said Jemima Twine
named in my said will and former codicil and this codicil as the
case may be and I do hereby also declare that the provision so
made by me for the said Mary Ann Twine Georgiana Twine Maria
Twine Catherine Twine Ellen Twine Charlotte Twine and Florence
Mary Twine is intended for their sole separate and peculiar use
and benefit independently and exclusively of any husband with
whom they may respectively happen to intermarry without being in
anywise subject or liable to his control debts interference or
engagements and that their respective receipts whether they
shall be single or married shall be good and effectual
discharges for the same I revoke the powers contained in my will
and codicil enabling the said Edward Methold and William Hugh
Dennett until the said Catherine Twine and Charlotte Twine
respectively shall retain their respective ages of twenty one
and to invest and from time to time to vary and transpose the
trust funds comprised in my

said will in manner therein respectively
mentioned and in lieu thereof I direct that until the said
Florence Mary Twine shall attain the age of twenty one years it
shall and may be lawful to and for the said Edward Methold and
William Hugh Dennett and the survivor of them and the executors
and administrators of such survivor and their or his assigns to
lay out and invest all or any of the said trust funds in their
or his names or name in the purchase of any of the public stocks
or funds of Great Britain or at interest on any Government or
real securities in England and from time to time to alter vary
transpose and transfer all or any of the said trust monies
stocks funds and securities for or into other stocks funds and
securities of the like nature when and so often as they or he
shall think fit and I do hereby direct that every such calling
in sale alteration variation or transfer shall be made at the
direction and at the proper authority of the said Edward Methold
and William Hugh Dennett or the survivor of them or the
executors administrators or assigns of such survivor I appoint
the said Edward Methold William Hugh Dennett and Jemima Twine
and the survivors and survivor of them Guardians and Guardian of
the person of the said Florence Mary Twine until she shall
attain the age of twenty one years In all other respects I
confirm my said will and codicil In witness whereof I the said
Henry Methold have to this codicil and to a duplicate hereof
each contained in three sheets of paper subscribed my hand this
twentieth day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty

Laws and Surrogate by the oaths of William Hugh Dennett esquire
and Jemima Twine spinster two of the executors to whom Admon was
granted having been first sworn duly to administer power
reserved of making the life grant to Edward Methold esquire the
brother the other executor when he shall apply for the same. |
