This is the last Will
and Testament of me John Mells of Gillingham in the County of
Dorset Yeoman made the eighteenth day of January in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen and being of
sound mind and understanding do dispose of my Copyhold and
personal Estates in manner and form following (that is to say)
First I give devise and bequeath unto Mary my beloved wife all
my said Copyhold and personal Estates whatsoever and wheresoever
together with the use benefit and produce of all my Stock of
Cattle for and during the Term of her natural life and from and
after her decease I give devise and bequeath my said Copyhold
Estates, stock of cattle and my other personal Estate unto and
amongst all and every my sons and daughters now living (Viz)
John Mells, Thomas Mells, Samuel Mells, Edward Mells, Richard
Mells, Mary the wife of Silas Hiskens, and Sarah Card, Widow,
equally between them share and share alike. And lastly all the
rest residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever
and wheresoever not herein before given (if any) I give and
dispose of the same unto my said beloved wife Mary And I do
hereby constitute and appoint her my said wife and my said son
John joint Executrix and Executor of this my said last Will and
Testament hereby revoking and making void all Wills and
Testaments by me heretofore made and satisfying and confirming
this only to be my last Will and Testament and also directing my
Executrix and Executor as aforesaid to pay and discharge all my
debts and funeral expenses. In witness whereof I the Testator
John Mells have to this my last Will and Testament contained in
two sides of this sheet of paper to the first set my hand and to
this my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid

and declared by the said Testator John Mells as and for his last
Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence
and the presence of each other have set our names as witnesses
