The Will of Thomas Medow

 

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Medow of Ainsdale but now of Latham in the County of Lancaster husbandman do make this my last will and Testament in manner following
after my just debts my funeral Expenses and the Probate of this my will being first paid my mind and will is and I do hereby Give, Devise and Bequeath that Estate belonging to me in Ainsdale in Formby in frsd County Called Jumps unto my Grandson Thomas Medow Chargeable wth the sum of Twenty pounds and hereas I am Entitled unto won other Estate wch I hould by Lease Lying in Ainsdale and Halsall in the afsd County Called (Rimors) my mind and will is and I do hereby Give devise and Bequeath the same Estate unto my son William Medow Chargeable with the sum of Forty pounds but my mind and will is that my Daughter in Law now the widow of my son Henry Medow Decd shall have the Little house wth the ground there adjoyning and thereto belonging for so long as shee Continues the widow of my son Henry and houlds his name being part of the Estate herein before mentioned Called Jumps and if shee fails Continueing my sd sons widow or decease then the same to go to my Grandson Thomas Medow as aforsd
and my farther will and mind and I do hereby give Devise and Bequeath unto my son Cuthbert Medow the sum of Twenty pounds & if my personal Estate wth the several Charges herein before mentioned shall fall short in paying and Discharging the several Bequests herein Before Devised that in such Case the same shall be further Charges upon that Estate Called herein before Called Rimors)
And it is my further will and mind And I do hereby Give Devise and Bequeath unto my son James Medow the yearly sum of four pounds for and during his natural life to be yearly paid of my two before mentioned Estates equally and by two half yearly payments (to witt) upon every twenty sixth day of December and Twenty fourth day of June to begin with that which shall hapen after my Decease and
Lastly I do hereby Nominated constitute and Ordain my two good friends Robert Formby of Formby Joyner and Robert Formby of Formby Husbandman Executors of this my last will and Testament hopeing that they will see this my will duely performed as my trust is in them reposed in testimoney whereof I have hereunto set my hand and put my seal this fourteeth day of September One thousand seven hundred and fifty
