The Will of Titus May

 

In the Name of God Amen I Titus May of Witney in the County of Oxford Blanket weaver being Sick and Weak but of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding Praise be given to Almighty God for the same Do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first and principally I Commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping through the merits death and passion of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to Inherit everlasting Salvation and for my body I Commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named and as for my Worldly Goods that it hath pleased Almighty God of his great goodness to endow me with I give and dispose as followeth (That is to say) I Will that all my just Debts and ffuneral Expences be paid and discharged I give and devise to my Kinsman John Bangham All that my dwelling house outhouses Edifices and Buildings whatsoever wherein I now dwell in Witney aforesaid and elsewhere be it freehold Copyhold or else To hold to him the said John Banham for and during the Term of his natural life and from and after his decease to his Son Michael and his heirs for ever Also I give and bequeath to my Kinswoman Mary Sheen Also to my Kinswoman Ann Dolley And also to my Kinswoman Martha Minchin and to each and every of them the sum of Twenty pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid them and every of them respectively by my Executor within Twelve months next after my decease And for all the rest and residue of my Goods and Chattells whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath to my said Kinsman John Bangham whom I Constitute and appoint full and Sole Executor of this my present last Will and Testament revoking all former and other last Wills and Testaments heretofore by me made ratifying and confirming this my present last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Titus May have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this fourteenth day of December in the Year of our Lord 1735
