The Will of Dorothy Mason

 

In the Name of God Amen I Dorothy Mason of Dorking in the County of Surry Spinster being sick and weake in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory (praised be the Lord therefore) And considering the Uncertainty of this transitory Life Doe make publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following That is to say ffirst I give and bequeath unto my loving Sister Elizabeth Hollier the Wife of John Hollier of Dorking aforesd Innholder the Summe of One hundred pounds of lawfull money of England But my will and meaning is That if her Efforts doe not cause her to make use and dispose of the same in her lifetime That at her death the said Summe of One hundred pounds be equally divided among my three Nephews John Hollier the younger Edward Hollier and Charles Hollier or sooner if my said Sister shall soe think fitt to divide and dispose of the same Item I give and bequeath unto my said three Nephews John Hollier the younger Edward Hollier and Charles Hollier each of them a Silver spoone and a Childs Spoone to him that shall have the least of the three Spoons Item I give and bequeath unto my said Nephew Charles Hollier One feather bed one feather bolster two feather pillows One Quilt two Blanketts One Bedstead Curtaines and Vallence with the Appurtenances One Chest of Drawers made of Wallnutt One Lookinglass Six Chaires and all the ffurniture in my Roome But in case any one of my said Nephews shall happen to dye before their Mother or before they shall have received their respective Legacies given to them s aforesaid then my will is That the Legacy of him that shall happen to dye be equally divided between the other two Survivours of them Item I give and bequeath unto my said Nephew Charles Hollier my gold Watch to be made up to the full Value of Ten Pounds by my said Sister Elizabeth Hollier in lieu of Ten pounds which I lately borrowed of him Item all the Rest of my Goods Chattells and personall Estate whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my said Sister Elizabeth Hollier after my Debts Legacies and ffunerall Expences shall be fully satisfied and paid Item I make John Burton of Dorking aforesaid Apothecary sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament And I give unto him the Summe of five Shillings of lawfull money of England over and above his charges trouble and Expences herein.In Witness whereof I the said Dorothy Mason have hereunto sett my hand and Seale this Twelfth day of March in the ffifth yeare of the Reigne of Our Souveraigne Lady Ann by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland Queen Defender of the faith Anno Dm One thousand Seaven hundred and five
