In the Name of God Amen I Miles Martyr of
Leatherhead in the County of Surrey Maltster considering the
Uncertainty of this Mortal Life and being of sound and disposing
Mind and Memory blessed be Almighty God for the same Do make
constitute and appoint this my last Will and Testament as
follows First and principally I commend my Soul into the Hands
of Almighty God my only Redeemer and my Body to be decently
Buried at the discretion of my Executrix and Executor herein
after named and as for my Temporal Estate I bequeath and dispose
of it in manner following that is to say That all my Debts and
Funeral Expences be forthwith paid and discharged And also all
the rest residue and remainder of my Worldly Estate plate ready
money Bond Book Debts Goods and Chattels whatsoever and
wheresoever situate lying and being and to be found I give
devise and bequeath unto my loveing Wife Ann and to my very good
Friend William Sprules of Mickleham Yeoman for and towards
maintaining my said Wife and bringing up and Educateing my
beloved Children and the remainder or overplush that shall be at
the decease of my said loveing Wife I give and devise unto my
beloved Children in such share as my said Wife shall think meet
by her last Will and Testament And lastly I nominate constitute
and appoint my said loveing Wife Ann and my good Friend William
Sprules my Executrix and Executor joyntly of this my last Will
and Testament and Trustees for my said Children And I do hereby
utterly revoke disallow and disannul all former Bequests Wills
and Legacies by me in anywise left or made declaring ratifying
and Confirming this and no other to be my last Will and
Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
Seal this Fifteenth day of September in the Eighteen Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second and in the Year of
our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty four
