Transcript will of JOHN MARTYN of
GAYTON THORPE. 1736/7.

In the name of God Amen, I JOHN MARTYN of GAYTON THORPE in the
county of Norfolk, yeoman, being weak of body but of perfect
memory praised be God, doth make and ordain this my last will
and testament in manner and form following.
Imprimis I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God
trusting through the merits and mediation of my blessed redeemer
to receive full pardon and remission of all my sins and my body
to be buried in Christian burial according to the discretion of
my executrix hereinafter named.
Item, I give unto WILLIAM MARTYN my son, fifty pounds of lawfull
money of Great Britain.
Item I give unto ELIZABETH PEARSON my daughter and to her son
and daughter WILLIAM and JUDITH WINKFIELD, eight pounds to each
of them, when they attain to the age of one and twenty years and
their mother to receive the interest.
Item I give unto MARY MILLER my daughter one pound.
Item I give unto SUSAN COLLINS my daughter one shilling and to
her sons JOHN and WILLIAM GIPSON twenty shillings to each and to
MARTYN GIPSON five pounds to put him to a trade if he desire it.
Item I give unto ANN WHITACRE my daughter all my bills, bonds,
mortgages and debts and all my movable goods and chattels, the
paying all my just debts and legacies within three months after
my decease and make her sole executrix of this my last will and
testament, revoking all former wills by me made and I do
nominate and appoint WILLIAM MARTYN my son and NICHOLAS PEARSON
to be my trustees to see this my last will executed and for
their [reward?] I give them five pounds to each trusting whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty second day of
January in the year of our Lord 1736.
