This is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph Martin the elder of Welford lodge in the parish of Welford in the county of Northampton Farmer as follows that is to say All those four small tenements or dwellings with the appurtenances thereto belonging situate standing and being in a certain street called the back street in the town of Welford aforesaid and now in the several occupation of Thomas Walden Mary Buckland and Elizabeth Thompson Thomas Hewitt and Catharine Whiteman or some of them And also all other my real estates whatsoever and wheresoever the same may be I give and devise unto my son Joseph Martin his heirs and assigns To Hold the same to him the said son Joseph Martin his heirs and assigns for ever Also I give and bequeath unto my daughters Mary Martin the Bedstead and Woolbed which stands in the room called the Pub. Also the whole of the Bedding thereon and the Chest of drawers which she now uses Also one Stand One with Chairs the great Table that stands in the house One Copper Tea kettle One such of China One Oak Chest which stands in the best room over the house one looking Glass usually in the said room and one Linen wheel---------Also it is my Will and meaning that she shall reside in the house with the said Joseph
Martin as long as she remains unmarried if she chooses so to do-Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Martin the Chest of Drawers which she now uses together with a wash hand stand and a Copper Tea Kettle A set of China and also half a dozen Chairs that are used in the best room and one of the stands used in the house to and for her own use and benefit Also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Elizabeth and to my daughter Jane Martin the two beds and Bedsteds together with the whole of the Bedding thereon which stand in the Garret in which the said Elizabeth and Jane now sleep and all the furniture to be equally divided between them share and share alike as tenants in common that is usually used in the said Garret Also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Jane Martin One Copper tea Kettle A Set of China and one Arm Chair Also and bequeath unto my said three daughters Elizabeth Mary and Jane half of the linen of whatever name or description over and above what is given to them share and share alike as tenants in common All the rest Residue and Remainder of my household Goods furniture Linen Brewing utensils And all my live and dead Stock and Crops Implements of Husbandry ready money and securities for Money and all other farming Stock and personal estate of whatsoever description I give and bequeath unto my said son Joseph Martin his Excs and assigns he paying thereout my just debts funeral expences and the charges of proving this my Will And also the following Legacies that is to say Unto my daughter Elizabeth Martin the Sum of Fifty Pounds to whom I give and bequeath the same Unto my daughter Mary Martin the Sum of Fifty Pounds to whom I give and bequeath the same and to my daughter Jane Martin the Sum of Fifty pounds to whom I give and bequeath the same and to my daughter Lucy now the Wife of John Walker the Sum of Thirty Pounds to whom I hereby give and bequeath the same and hereby direct each of the aforesaid Legacies to be paid by my said son within twelve calendar months of my decease And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint John Butlin of Welford aforesaid farmer and John Bilson of the same place Shopkeeper joint Executors of this my Will revoking and making void all former and other Will and Wills by me at any time or times heretofore made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I the said Joseph Martin the Testator have to this my last Will and testament set my hand and seal the second day of January in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four
