The Will of John Martin

 

Memorandum I John Martin of Saddington in the County of Leicester Taylor being in Indifferent health of body but of Sound and Disposing mind and memory (Praised be God for the same) but Considering that Death is Certaine to all and the tyme Thereof Uncertaine Doe Therefore Make & ordaine This my Last Will and Testament In Manner and forme following (Vizt) ffirst and principally I Comend my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Creator hopeing Through the meritts Death and passion of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to have pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and to Inheritt Everlasting Life and my body I Comitt to the Earth to be Decently buryed at the Discretion of my Executrix herein After named And as for and Concerning the Distribution of Such Estate the Lord being hath been pleased to bestow upon me I give and Dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I will that my Debts Legacyes and funerall Expences be paid an Discharged by my Executrix herein after named Item I give Devise and bequeath unto my Loveing wife Mary Martin all That part of my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances in Saddington aforesaid Containing two Lower Rooms and one Upper Room The Cow horse and allsoe ……….and now being in my possession To hold unto my said Loveing wife Mary for and during the terme of her naturall Life and from and after her Decease Then my will and Meaning is and I Doe hereby give Devise and bequeath the said premises unto all and Every my Children So Long as They shall be Sole and Unmarried to have free Liberty of Ingress Egress and Regress unto and from the sd part of the Said Messuage or Tenement and from and after Such Devise as aforesaid Then I Doe give and Devise the sd part of the sd Messuage or Tenement unto my Son John Martin his heires and Assignes forever Item All the Rest and Residue of All my Goods Cattle Chattells Debts Creditts Cropp upon the ground and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give Devise and bequeath unto my Loveing wife Mary whom I make full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I Doe hereby Revoake all former wills by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said John Martin have hereunto sett my hand and seale this six and Twentieth Day of March in the second Year of the present …..Reigne King George Annoq Dom 1716
