The Will of John Martin

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Martin of Saddington in the County of Leicester Taylor being in a Languishing Condition (but thro’ Gods mercy of Sound and Disposing mind and memory Yett) Considering the Certainty of Death and the Uncertainty of the time thereof Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament In manner and forme following (Vizt) First I give and Devise All that part of my Messuage Cottage & Tenement Garden and Orchard or little Close with the appurts in Saddington aforesaid now in my own Possession unto Ann my Dear and Loveing wife for and During the Term of her naturall Life And from and after their Decease I Give and Devise the Same unto my Son William and his Heirs and Assigns forever Also All the other part of my Messuage Cottage or Tenement with the appurts now in the possession of my Two Sisters Elizabeth and Ann Martin from and after their Decease or Marriage which shall first happen I Give and Devise unto my Son William and his Heirs and Assigns forever Also all that my Half Quartern of Land with the appurts in the Comon and Open Fields of Saddington aforesaid now in my own Possession I Give and Devise unto my said Son William Martin and to his Heirs and Assigns forever Also I give and bequeath unto my Son Edward Martin All the Timber Bricks and all the Materials wsoever which I now have provided for One Bay of Building to be Disposed of by him as he shall think Convenient All the rest of my personall Estate wsoever and wheresoever Debts being paid and Funerall Expenses Discharged I Give and bequeath unto my said Wife whom I make Sole Extrix of this my will Revoaking all former by me made In Witness whereof I the said John Martin the Testator have hereunto put my hand and Seale this Twentieth Day of February In the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Eight
