In the Name of God Amen I WILLIAM MANNING
of the Parish of St. Margaret Westminster in the County of
Middlesex being of sound and disposing Mind memory and
Understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament
I give devise and dispose thereof as follows that is to say
ffirst I give unto my dearly beloved Wife the sum of seventy
five pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain and what household
furniture I have also my Gold Ring Item I give unto my Son JAMES
MANNING the sum of One hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great
Britain two Silver Spoons one marked J.M. the other C.M. ane
Silver Watch a Silver Stock Buckle a pair of Silver Shoes and
Knee Buckles a Silver rim Tortoise Shell Snuff Box and all my
Wearing Apparel Also to pay MRS. ANN CHASE the Wife of CHARLES
CHASE the sum of fifty pounds on a promisary Note of my own hand
writing I say to be paid immediately after my Decease the Moneys
that is to pay off all these above mentioned Legacies are in the
three per cent South Sea Stock Also I do require that what Money
Notes Wills and Debts and Demands remaining over and above what
will pay my funeral Charges not exceeding eight pounds and all
my lawful debts and that the Remainder of the said Money be
given to my loving Wife JANE MANNING to make the other seventy
pounds up One hundred pounds and what is over that sum for my
Son JAMES MANNING to have And I do hereby hereby nominate
constitute and appoint MR.THOMAS KILLINGWORTH Baker in the
parish of St. Martins in the ffields and MR. JOHN WILKINSON in
the parish of St. Margarets Westminster to be my two Executors
and Trustees for my Wife and Son of this my last Will and
Testament and revoke and declare to be null and void all and
every other Will or Wills at any time or times heretofore made
In witness whereof I have here set my hand and seal the
thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord 1755 - WILLIAM

MANNING to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us
who witnessed the same in the said Testators presence - JAMES

Codicil to be added to and be part of the
last Will and Testament of WILLIAM MANNING Porter to the Duchess
of Richmond Whereas the said WILLIAM MANNING did in and by my
said last Will and Testament make nominate and appoint my worthy
ffriends MR. THOMAS KILLINGWORTH and MR. JOHN WILKINSON
Executors of my said Will now I do make and appoint my Dear
Loving Wife JANE MANNING joint Executrix to and with the said
THOMAS KILLINGWORTH and JOHN WILKINSON Executors and Executrix
of my said Will and thereby also declare that my said Will in
Writing and this Codicil which I will shall be added to and
declared part thereof I have set my hand and seal this thirtieth
day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred
and fifty five and in the twenty ninth year of the Reign of King

This will was proved at London with a
Codicil the twenty first day of October in the Year of our Lord
One Thousand seven hundred and fifty five before the Worshipful
Arthur Collier Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right
Honourable Sir George See Knight also Doctor of Laws Master
Keeper or Commissary of the Perogative Court of Canterbury
lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Thomas Killingworth and
John Wilkinson the Executors named in the said Will and Jane
Manning Widow the Relict of the Deceased and Executrix named in
the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and
singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the Deceased they
having been first sworn duly to administer.
