The Will of Margaret Manning

 

In the Name of God Amen I MARGARET MANNING of the parish of Saint Andrew Holborn in the County of Middlesex Widow being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding ( thanks be to God for the same ) Do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following ( that is to say) First I give and bequeath unto my son BARTHOLEMEW MANNING the sum of One Guinea and no more And I do declare the same to be in full of all claims and demands whatsoever he may have upon my Estate of what kind soever they may be And as to the rest and residue of my estate and effects whether real or personal and wheresoever the same may be I give devise and bequeath the same unto my Dear Loving Daughter MARGARET MANNING whom I do hereby make nominate constitute and appoint Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking making null and void all other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made Declaring this only as and for my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and forty in the fourteenth Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second King over Great Britain and so forth - MARGARET MANNING - signed sealed published and declared by the said MARGARET MANNING the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at the request of the said Testatrix have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto - JOS. HARRIS - ISAAC NEWBERRY - GEORGE -----.

This Will was proved at London the twentyfirst day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty three before the Worshipful William Spry Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Sir Edward Simpson Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Margaret Manning Spinster the Daughter of the Deceased and Sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased She having been first sworn duly to administer.
