I MARGARET MANNING of the parish of Saint Albans Wood Street being of
perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling to
mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all
persons once to dye do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament (
that is to say) principally and first of all I give and recommend my
Soul into the hands of God that gave it and my Body to be buryed in
decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors not doubting
but at the generall Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the
mighty power of God and as touching such worldy Estate wherewith it hath
pleased Almighty God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose
of the same in the following manner and form Imprimus I give and
bequeath unto my Nephew SAMUEL WATHEY which is now apprentice to Mr.
Daniel Catchmead an Upholsterer in Basing lane a Silver Pint Mugg
engraved on the bottom - Saml Wathey Item I give and bequeath unto my
Niece SARAH REDFERN daughter of my Nephew JACOB REDFERN deceased the
chest of Draws which stands in my chamber Item My mind and my Will is
that all my household and shop goods be sold and after my lawful debts
are paid and funerall charges are satisfied if there be any money left I
give and dispose the same in manner and form following that is to say
the rest and residue of my Estate shall be kept by my Executors towards
providing cloaths for the said SAMUEL WATHEY till his apprenticeship of
seven years are expired and towards the maintaining of my Niece SARAH
REDFERN and at the expiration of the said seven years apprenticeship of
the said SAMUEL WATHEY if my Executors have any money or goods left all
the rest and residue thereof I give bequeath and devise unto my
aforesaid Niece SARAH REDFERN by her freely to be possessed of and
enjoyed and I do hereby constitute make and ordain MR. THOMAS MILLWARD a
Cornchandler in Barbican and Mr. WILLIAM ATTWOOD a Writing Master in
Thames Street Executors and Trustees of this my Last Will and Testament
and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannull all and every
other former Testaments Wills Legacies and bequests and Executors by me
in any ways before named Willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming
this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal the eighteenth day day of January in
the sixth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the second by
the Grace of God King of Great Britain ffrance and Ireland etc. Anno Dom

This will was proved at London before the Worshipful Stephen Cottrell
Doctor of Laws Surrogate to the Right Worshipful John Bettesworth also
Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of
Canterbury lawfully constituted the eighth day of April in the year of
our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty six by the Oaths of
Thomas Millward and William Attwood the Executors named in the said will
To whom administration of all and singular the Goods Chattells and
Credits of the deceased was granted being first sworn duly to
administer.
