The Will of Nicholas Malyns c.1575 - 1635

 

From the Worcester Records Office - Will of Nicholas Malyns of Tysoe, 1635

 

In the Name of god Amen.  The last day of May Anno Dom. 1635.  I Nicholas Malyns of  Tysoe in the County of Warw husbandman though sicke in body yet perfect in mynde and memory thanks and praise be given to god therefore doe make and ordayne this my last will and testament in maner and forme following.  Ffirst I bequeath my soule into the hands of almighty god my maker and redeemer and my body to be buryed in christia buryall in full and certayne hope of resurrection to eternal life and those worldly goods my god of his goodness hath given me I bequeath as follows.

Iprimis  I give unto my daughter Margaret Malyns £10 when shee shall come to the age of twenty two yeares

Item  I give unto my daughter Mary Malyns £10 when shee shall come likewise to the age of twenty two yeares

Item I give unto my son Jonas Malyns £12

Item I give unto my son ?Abacus? (or Asarus) Malynes £6.13s.8d when he shall come to the age of One and twenty

Item I give unto my son Thomas Malyns £12

All other my goods ungiven and unbequeathed my debts payde, legacies discharged and funeral expenses defrayed  I give unto Elizabeth my wife whom I make

my full and whole executrix intreating her to be good unto my children   I  intreate  my brother Thomas Malynes and Richard Horsma[n] to be ov[er]seers of this

My last will and testament  My will also being that If any of my children dye before theire legacyes be due The said legacye or legacyes to ?remayne? to the then living

In witness whereof  I hand (clearly “hand” not “have”) set to my hand the day and yeare first abovewritten

A true and perfect Inventory of all the goods and chattles Of Nicholas Malyns late of Tysoe in the Country of  Warwicke  taken and priced the third day of June
