The Will of John Lush

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Lush of Shaftesbury in the County of Dorset Mercer being sick but of sound and Disposing Mind Memory and Understanding do this Tenth Day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Eight make Publish and Declare this my last Will & Testament in Manner and fform following (that is to say) First I give and Bequeath unto Dorothy my beloved Wife the Use of all my Stock in Trade whatsoever, now being in my Dwelling House wherein I now live or elsewhere for and during her Natural Life and from and after her Decease Then I give and Bequeath the same unto and among all and every of my Children Vizt. John, James, Charles, Sarah, and Ann, equally between them Share and Share alike And Lastly all the rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattles ready Money Securities for Money and all other my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give and Bequeath unto my said Wife and do make her my said Wife whole and Sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testament hereby Revoking and disannulling and making Void all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any Time heretofore made and do ratify and confirm this only to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I the Testator set my Hand and Seal the Day and Year aforesaid John Lush   (Attestation Clause)   Henry Chitty    E Buckland   Proved 1778   Dorset Record Office
