The Will of William Lovell
I William Lovell of Somerton in the County of Oxon Blacksmith Doe by will dispose of my outward estate as followeth, viz ffirst I wish that my debts funeral charges and legacies herein given by mee bee paid by my Executors hereafter named, as moneyes due to mee shall come into their hands to enable them And then
I give and
bequeath unto the poore
Inhabitants of Somerton, whom my
Executors shall iudge most
needfull One shilling to each
family, Item I give unto my
brother Thomas Scuble of Brill
and Joane his wife Tenne pounds
Item I give to Richard Carver of
Northby and Anne his wife and
their two Children Tenne pounds
to bee divided as I have
directed my Executors Item I
give to Sarah Hore one Cupbord
in the Hall and to Mary Harris
my Goddaughter five shillings
Item to Ellen Yates five pounds
and to Rich: Coleburne’s wife to
be paid her as my Executor shall
iudge it by parcels most
needfull for her only Releife
And lastly I doe hereby appoint
and constitute Executors of this
my last will and Testament my
loveing friends Mr Bryan Turner
of Solderne and Mr John Jones
Revoaking and disannulling all
former will or wills whatsoever
which said Executors I desire to
see all my debts called in, and
to whom I give the Remainder of
my estate goods and Chattells if
any bee Witnes my hand and seale
this fourth day of May Anno
