The Will of Mary Limbrey

 

In the Name of God Amen I Mary Limbrey of Odiham in the County of Southton Widow being weak in Body but of a sound disposing mind memory and understanding thanks be to Almighty God therefore do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) ffirst and Principally I Commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and as to my Worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as followeth ffirst I will that all my Debts and ffuneral Expences be paid and discharged as soon as conveniently may be after my decease by my Executrix hereinafter named And then I give and bequeath unto my Niece Jane Limbrey the Sum of Seven hundred Pounds I also give and bequeath unto my Niece Ann Hobbs Wife of William Hobbs Gentleman the Sum of One Hundred Pounds I Also give and bequeath unto John ffrederick Toll the Sum of One Hundred Pounds I Also give and bequeath unto the Child or Children of my late Niece Mary Vine deceased the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds and Interest for the same to be divided between them Share and Share alike as soon as he she or they arrive at the respective Age or Ages of twenty three years And my Will and desire is that my Executrix within twelve Months after my decease do put the said Three Hundred Pounds into some of the publick ffunds and receive the Interest thereof as it shall grow due for the uses aforesaid I Also give and devise unto my Nephew James Barber for and during the Term of his natural life All that ffreehold Messuage or Tenement with its Appurts situate and being in London Street in Basingstoke and now in the Possession of the said James Barber for and during the Term of his natural life the Interest of the Sum of Two hundred Pounds unto the Child or Children of the said James Barber lawfully begotten as soon as they shall have attained the Age of twenty one Years but if he should happen to die and leave no Child or Children that shall live to attain the Age of twenty One Years then I give devise and bequeath the said Messuage or Tenement and the said Principal Sum of Two hundred Pounds unto my Niece Elizabeth Pittman her Heirs Exors Admors and Assigns for ever I also give and bequeath unto my Nephew William Pittman the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds I also give and bequeath unto my Nephew John Pittman the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds I also give and bequeath unto the Children of my Niece Elizabeth Shebbeare that shall be living at the time of her decease the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds to be divided between them Share and Share alike after the decease of their said Mother as soon as they or either of them arrive at the Age of twenty three Years And my Will and desire is that my Executrix within twelve Months after my decease do put the said Three Hundred Pounds into some of the publick ffunds and receive the Interest thereof as it shall grow due for the use of the said Elizabeth Shebbeare for and during the Term of her natural life I Also give and bequeath unto my Niece Jane Hooke the Sum of One Hundred pounds also give and bequeath unto my Nephew Samuel fford the Sum of One Hundred pounds to be paid him as soon as he attains the Age of twenty three Years I also give and bequeath unto my Nephew Edmund Pittman the Sum of Six Hundred Pounds All which Legacies my Will is should be paid within twelve Months next after my decease by my Executrix hereinafter named except those that are made payable otherwise as aforesaid Also I also give and bequeath unto Sister Martha Pittman Ten Pounds a Year during her natural life payable Quarterly I also give and bequeath unto the Poor of the Parish of Odiham the Sum of ffive Pounds all the Rest residue and Remainder of my real and Personal estate Goods Chattells Moneys and Securities for Money whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kindsoever I give devise and bequeath unto my Niece Elizabeth Pittman her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of Paper set my hand and seal to each this twenty fourth day of June in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty nine       Mary Limbrey
