The Will of James Limbrey

 

In the Name of God Amen I James Limbrey of Odiham in the County of Southampton Gentleman being in good Health and of a sound disposing Mind Memory and Understanding Thanks be to Almighty God therefore do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner following (that is to say) ffirst and Principally I commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God who gave it And my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executrix herein after named and as for my Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as followeth ffirst I will that all my just Debts and ffuneral Expences be paid and discharged as soon as conveniently may be after my Decease and then I give and devise unto my loving Wife Mary and unto her Heirs and Assigns for ever All these my four Acres of Garden Ground (be the same more or less) being ffreehold situate lying and being in Saint Mary Magdalene Bermondsey in the County of Surry which I lately purchased of Mr Mathew Cox and his Wife and others and called or known by the Name of Swann Mead And now in the Possession of Jonathan Harding which I lately purchased of Thomas Mapleton And also all that ffreehold Messuage or Tenement Lands and Premises with their and every of their Appurtenances which I lately purchased of Thomas Amblin and Stephen Amblin situate lying and being in London Street in Leasingtoft in the said County of Southton and now in the Possession of Mrs Croft I also give unto my said loving Wife Mary her Executors and Administrators all that my Leasehold Messuage or Tenement Lands and Premises with the Appurtenances situate lying and being in Stratfield Sea in the said County of Southton and now in the Possession of Nathan Dollery his undertenant or undertenants which I hold by Lease for three Lives from the Duke of Bolton formerly Joseph Heathers which I lately purchased of Mr Kitchener And also all those two Acres of Land be the same more or less lying in the Common ffield belonging to Odiham aforesaid called long Dean which I lately purchased of Jonathan Harding for the Remainder of a long Term of Years yet to come and unexpired and now in the possession of the said Jonathan Harding I also give and bequeath unto my said loving Wife Mary all my Moneys and Securities for Money Plate and Rings All the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods Cattle Chattles and Personal whatsoever and wheresoever or of what Nature or Kind soever I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Mary whom I hereby make full and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament revoking and making void all other and former Wills by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Ninth Day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty five    James Limbrey
