The Will of Robert Lester

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert LISTER of Oxton within County of Chester Yeoman first I will and direct that all my just Debts funorall expences and the charge of the Probate hereof be first paid and discharged out of my Personall estate ……. I give and devise all that my messuage and tenement with the appurtances scituate in Oxton aforesaid now in my own holding comonly called or known by the name of Lister Tenement unto my son William his heirs executors and administrators for and during all my Estate and Interest therein ……. I give to my son Richard his Heirs Executors and Administrators All that my Messuage in Oxton aforesaid which I partely bought of Mistress Martha HEYS of Great Neston in the said County for and during all my Estate and Interest therein and I give and bequeath to him all and singular my Personal Estate implements of Household Goods and stock of what values and kind soever charges and chargeable nevertheless with the payment of five pounds apiece which I give to my Grandchildren Joseph and Elizabeth Son and Daughter of my son John deceased and to be paid them by my Executors when they shall respectively attain the age of Sixteen years and in case either of my said Grandchildren shall happen to dye before they attain the said age of Sixteen years it is my will and mind that the part or share of him or her so dying shall go to the survivor of them and to be paid to him or her when he or she shall attain the said age of Sixteen years And in case either of my said sons shall happen to dye without lawfull issue it is my mind and I will and devise the Tenement or Estate …………… given to him so dying to the Survivor of them …paying my said Grandchildren Joseph and Elizabeth each five pounds apiece upon his ……….. upon the said promisses and I appoint my said Son William and Thomas WILLIAMS of Prenton within County Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made and I declare this to be my last Will and Testament.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this fifth day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and forty
