This is the last will and testament of me
Charles Emmanuel St.Alphonse of Beech house, Loughton, in the
county of Essex, stockbroker, in the first place I direct that
my Funeral and Testamentary expences and just debts be paid by
my executrix hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be
after my decease I give devise and bequeath all the real and
personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of
what nature or kind so ever of or which I shall be seized
possessed or entitled at the time of my decease unto my wife
ElizabethMary St.Alphonse her heirs executors administrators and
assigns according to the nature and quality thereof
respectively absolutely and for ever And I appoint my said wife
Sole Executrix of this my will and revoking all former wills
declare this only to be my last Will and Testament in witness
whereof I have to this my will signed my name this twenty third
day of February One Thousand Eight hundred and sixty six- Chas.
I. St.Alphonse – signed and Acknowledged by the said Charles
Immanuel St. Alphonse the Testator as and for his last will and
testament in the presence of us both being present at the same
time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of
each other have hereunto signed our names as Witnesses- John
Tucker Solr. 26 St Swithins Lane, London, Richd. Fry Clerk to
the said John Tucker.
On 10th day of March 1900
Probate of the Will was granted to Elizabeth Mary St.Alphonse
widow the sole executrix.
(Explanatory Note: George Leeds was born
21.4.1825 at Staplehurst and as a baby was unofficially adopted
by a French Arm Officer Paul St.Alphonse & his wife and given
the above name taken back to France. In his early teens he
returned to the UK and only realized his name was Leeds upon
marriage to Elizabeth May Northcott on 13.5.1852. He elected to
keep his adopted name.) |
