singleman, being of
perfect mind and memory,
make this my last will
and testament, First I
desire to be privately
and decently buried in
the churchyard of
Biddenden and my
personal estate I
bequeath and dispose of
in the following manner.
Imprimis to my niece
Deborah the wife of
David Colman I bequeath
the sum of Forty Pounds
at my sister Elizabeth
Crampton’s decease.
Item I give and bequeath
to my niece Mary the
wife of James Skinner
the sum of Twenty Pounds
at my sister Elizabeth
Crampton’s decease.
Item to my nephew James
Jennings the son of
Martha the wife of James
Jennings I give and
bequeath the sum of
Thirty Pounds at my
sister Elizabeth
Crampton’s decease.
Item to my niece
Elizabeth the sum of Ten
Pounds at my my sister
Elizabaeth Crampton’s
decease.
Item to William Brook
the husband of my niece
Catharine I give and
bequeath the half part
of the sum of money he
now stands indebted to
me on note of hand.
Item to my nephew Paul
Sharpe I give and
bequeath the half part
of the sum of money he
now stands indebted to
me on note of hand.
Item to my sister
Elizabeth Crampton I
give and bequeath the
other half part of the
sum of money William
Brook stands indebted to
me on note of hand, also
the other half part of
the sum of money the
above Paul Sharp now
stands indebted to me on
note of hand and at her
decease the above half
part which she receives
of Paul Sharp I give and
bequeath to my nephew
Stephen Sharp and my
nephew James Sharp to be
equally divided between
them, also the half part
she receives of William
Brook I give and
bequeath to my nephew
James Jennings, my niece
Deborah the wife of
David Coleman, my niece
Mary the wife of James
Skinner and my niece
Elizabaeth the wife of
Samuel Mace to be
equally divided between
them if my sister
Elizabaeth Crampton
survives me which
please God she should
survive me she is to
enjoy the interest of
the aforesaid sums given
to my niece Deborah, my
niece Mary, my nephew
James and my niece
Elizabeth during her
life.
Also I constitute and
appoint David Coleman of
the parish of Biddenden
and Richard Freeman
bricklayer of the same
parish executors of this
my last will and
testament and I do
hereby utterly revoke,
disallow and disannul
all former requests,
wills and legacies by me
heretofor in any wise
left or made declaring,
ratifying and confirming
this, and no other to be
my last will and
testament; in witness
whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal
this twenty first day of
September in the year
of our Lord, one
thousand eight hundred
and eleven.
