The accompaniment of
Margaret Leeds widow and
executrix of the last
will and testament of
Arthur Leeds late of the
parish of Benenden in
the county of Kent
deceased. By her made
and declared the six and
twentieth day of May
Anno Dom.1624. Of and
upon all singular such
goods and chattels as
late were the said
deceaseds his whilst he
lived and since his
death have come to the
hands and possession of
this accompaniment by
force and virtue of her
executrixship and of the
execution of the last
will and testament of
the said deceased to her
in that behalf lawfully
committed as followeth
viz
First this accompaniment
chargeth herself with
all and singular such
goods and chattels as
late were the said
deceaseds his whilst he
lived and since his
death have come to the
hands and possession of
the accompaniment by
force and virtue of her
executrixship aforesaid.
The which goods and
chattels are contained
and specified in an
inventory thereof made
and hereunto annexed and
the same being by
gentlemen seen and
indifferently appraised
do in the whole extend
and amount unto the sum
of £65-6-10.
Out of the which said
sum this accompaniment
and executrix hath paid
and laid out as is
necessary to pay and lay
out in and about the
execution of the last
will and testament of
the said deceased and
payment of his debts
whereof the particulars
do hereunder follow. Viz
First paid and laid out
in and about the funeral
of the said deceased to
minister and parish
clerk for their
duties(duries?) and for
all other charges about
the said funeral the sum
of 10s.
Item for the probate of
the last will and
testament of the said
deceased in common form
for drawing of the
nuncupative will for the
oaths of witnesses for
registering and
ingrossing the said will
and for all other
charges thereabouts the
sum of 23s.
Item paid to Thomas
Watts of Benenden
aforesaid for debt due
and owing unto him by
the said deceased at the
time of his death by
bond £21.
Item paid to Thomas
Cadwell of Rolvenden for
debt due and owing unto
him by the said deceased
at the time of his death
£20.
Item to Stephen Gynder
of Benenden aforesaid
for debt due and owing
unto him by the said
deceased at the time of
his death by three
several bonds £28.
Item to John Topliffe of
Headcorn for debt due
and owing unto him by
the said deceased at the
time of his death by
bond £10-16-0.
Item the drawing of this
accompaniment in form to
exhibit unto the court
for the purpose(?) and
the proctors fee to do
the same and to obtain
the admission hereof the
registering and
ingrossing it in
parchment the …… of the
judges seal of office
and all other charges
thereabouts the sum of
26s-2d.
Totals of all and
singular the payment and
allowances aforesaid
£83-12-2.
So
it plainly appeareth
that this accompaniment
and executrix hath truly
and justly administered
in all and singular the
goods and chattels of
the said deceased so
that comp………it deducted
ded….. therein
surplusage that it hath
laid out and disbursed
more than the goods and
chattels of the said
deceased do amount unto
the sum of £18-5-4.
