The Will of Christopher Leedes
 

 In the name of god Amen the two and twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord God 1594 I Christopher Leedes of Ashford in the diocese of Canterbury being sick in body but of a good & perfect memory praised be the Lord my God therefore in manner and form following.

First I commit my soul unto the tuition of Almighty God & Jesus Christ my only saviour believing assuredly to be saved by the precious death & passion of my said Saviour & my body to Christian burial.

Item I will to the poor of the parish of Ashford to be distributed at the discretion of my executrix two shillings.

Item I will to my daughter Anne ten pounds of lawful money of England to be paid her at her day of marriage in money or else so much moveable goods then to be paid & delivered to her as shall be well worth the said sum of ten pounds.

I will to my daughter Rose the like sum of the ten pounds if the like money to be paid her at her day of marriage in money or else so much moveable goods then to be paid & delivered to her as shall be well worth the said sum of ten pounds.

Item I will to John Urricks & Mary Urricks the children of Thomas Urricke two pewter dishes apiece. The residue of all my goods & chattels whatsoever (my debts and legacies & funeral expenses being discharged) I will to Rose my well beloved wife whom I ordain & make my sole executrix of this my last will & testament. Read & promised in the presence of William Tilden & Thomas Urricke.
