A memorial of the Last Will and testament of
WILLIAM LEE of the township of Newsham in the parish of Kirkby
Ravensworth in the County of York, weaver, bearing date 18 December
1816 Whereby he gave and bequeathed unto his daughter JANE LEE his
dwelling house wherein he then lived with his family and with
appurtenances .... Also he gave and devised to his second daughter
ANNE LEE his house joining the north end of the above dwelling house
aforesaid with the appurtenances to her the said ANNE LEE her heirs
and assigns for ever . Also he gave devised and bequeathed to his
said two daughters JANE LEE and ANNE LEE his garden in front of his
houses joining the street with the workshop or what was commonly
called the Bakehouse ... for ever jointly but not as joint tenants.
Also he gave and devised and bequeathed unto his second son GEORGE
LEE his Lotment of land joining the gate at the West Corner known by
the name of John Key's Lotment Also his Lotment of land at the South
End and known by the name of Henry Thompson's Lotment. Also his
Lotment of land on Newsham Moor joining the side of Matthew Hardy's.
Also his stable joining the North End of his dwelling houses to the
said GEORGE LEE for ever. Also he gave and devised and bequeathed
unto his eldest son THOMAS LEE two Lotments of land situate upon
Newsham Town Green one of them known by the name of John Johnson's
Lotment and the other Lotment came to him as a share to his house
when Newsham Town pasture was inclosed. Also his field or land
situate at Newsham Town Pasture joining William and Thomas
Hutchinson's land ... to the said THOMAS LEE ... for ever which will
is witnessed by Matthew Hardy of Barningham, William Dunn of Newsham
and George Heslop of Newsham schoolmaster
and this deed is registered by me THOMAS LEE
eldest son and heir to WILLIAM LEE and one of the devisees in the
said will 6 April 1818
