The Will of William Henry Humphrey Lear

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Henry Humphrey Lear of Motcombe in the County of Dorset Farmer and I hereby revoke all former Wills and testamentary dispositions at any time heretofore made by me I appoint my wife Beatrice Lear and my son Ernest Henry Lear to be Executrix and Executor of this my Will I give and bequeath the following legacies free of legacy duty that it to say unto my said wife a legacy of one thousand pounds Unto my son Walter Thomas Lear I bequeath the sum of one thousand pounds and to my daughter Ethel the sum of one thousand pounds Unto my granddaughter Ivy Brine daughter of Henry Brine the sum of three hundred pounds Unto my granddaughter Marjorie Wilks the daughter of my daughter Florence the sum of three hundred pounds and I further give and bequeath unto my wife all the furniture books prints pictures glass linen china and household chattels and effects but not including any stock-in-trade implements of husbandry dairy utensils which may be in use about the house and premises where I may be residing at the time of my decease for her own use and benefit and subject to the above bequests I give devise bequeath and appoint all the residue of my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever situate unto my said son Ernest Henry Lear for his own use and benefit absolutely subject nevertheless to the payment thereout of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and subject also to his providing a home fot and keeping and maintaining my daughter Annie during her life In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty second day of June one thousand nine hundred and twenty six

Signed and acknowledged by the said William Henry Humphrey Lear as his last Will in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

On the 18th day of March 1928 Probate of this Will was granted at Wells

Be it known that William Henry Humphrey Lear of Sherborne Causeway in the parish of Motcombe, Dorset died there on the 2nd day of December 1927

And be it further known that at the date written the last will and Testament of the said deceased was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of His Majesty's High Court of Justice at Wells and that administration of all the estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Beatrice Annie (in the Will called Beatrice ) Lear of Sherborne Causeway aforesaid Widow the Relict and Ernest Henry Lear of Causeway Farm, Motcombe aforesaid Farmer, the son, the executors named in the said Will

Dated the 13th day of March 1928

Gross value of Estate £10,009 = 3 = 2
Net value of Personal Estate £5,439 = 7 = 6
