In the name of god Amen the 24th
daye of June in the yeare of our lord god 1590 I John Lathomof
newton in the countie of Lanc’ husbandman Am sicke in bodie but
of good and p’fect memorie god be thanked doe make constitute
and ordayne this my last will and Testament in maner and forme
folowing first and princepallie I bequeath my soule into the
hands of almightie god my onlei lord and savioure by whose free
mercie and grace I hope and trust to be one of christes members
that shall be saved Also I bequeath my bodie to by buried in my
p’ishe church or church yard of winwicke And there to rest
untill it shall please god to rayse it out of the ... last daye
and make it glorious lyke unto his bodie For my temperal goods
w’ch I am mynded to despoe and bestoe att this p’nte first mynd
and will is to by honestlie brought home Item I geve unto my
wiffe all such goods as god hath lent and bestoed uppon my
Excepte certayne quids w’ch I am mynded to bestoe amonge my
frends Item I geve and bequeath to my broth’r sonne 40s and the
rest of his children 12d apisse the which sayd money my broth’r
Robert lathum oeth my and I geve to 3 of my sisters children 5s
.... And to my moth’r in lawe 5s Item I geve to alitle boye of
my father in laws 3s 4d It’ I doe ordayne constitute and make
my trew and lawfull Executors of this my last will and Testament
my welbe loved wiffe Margret lathum and my brother Robert lathum
And over siers of the same Rychard parre and peter kenion whome
I desire in gods behalffe to see the same p’formed in all causes
with effect
