The Will of John Lane
I
John Lane of Red Lyon Street
in the Parish of Saint Mary
Whitechapel in the County of
Middlesex Coal Dealer do
make publish and declare
this to be my last Will and
Testament in manner
following that is to say I
give and bequeath unto
Thomas Sayer of Red Lyon
Street in the Parish of
Saint Mary Whitechapel in
the County of Middlesex
Victualler Benjamin Timms of
Leman Street Goodmans
ffields in the said parish
and County Victualler and
Samuel Holloway of King
Edward Street in the parish
of Saint John of Wapping in
the said County Coal
Merchant my Trustees and
Executors hereinafter named
the Sum of two hundred
pounds of lawful Money of
Great Britain upon Trust
that my said Trustees or the
Survivors or Survivor of
them do lay out and invest
the said Sum of two hundred
pounds in Government or
other Good and sufficient
Security in their own Name
or Names and pay apply and
dispose of the Interest
Dividends and produce
thereof to my Sister Ann
Rowland Wife of John Rowland
of Red Lyon Street aforesaid
Green Grocer for her sole
use and benefit and I do
hereby direct that the
Receipt and Receipts of the
said Ann Rowland
notwithstanding her
coverture shall from time to
time be good and sufficient
discharges to my Trustees
for the payment of the
dividends arising therefrom
and in case of the death of
the said Ann Rowland before
my Son William Mee Lane
shall have attained the age
of twenty one years Then in
Trust to pay apply and
dispose of the Interest
Dividends and produce of the
Stock purchased with the
said Sum of two hundred
pounds for and towards the
Maintenance Education and
support of my said Son until
he shall attain his said Age
of twenty one Years when and
as soon as he shall have
attained the said age Then
in Trustto transfer and pay
the same unto my said Son
but in case my said Sister
and my said Son shall both
of them die before my said
Son shall have attained the
said age of twenty one Years
Then I give and bequeath all
the stock purchased with the
said Sum of two hundred
pounds unto and amongst
thechildren of my Brother
Edward.....equally to be
divided between them share
and share alike and as to
all the Residue of my Estate
and Effects whatsoever as
well Real as Personal that I
may be possessed of or
entitled unto at the time of
my decease I give devise and
bequeath the same unto my
Trustees upon Trust that
they do as soon as
conveniently may be after my
decease sell and dispose of
the same and call in and
receive all such Sum and
Sums of Money as shall be
due and owing to me at the
time of my decease Upon
Trust that they do invest
the same in Government or
other good and sufficient
Security and pay apply and
dispose of the Interest
Dividends and Produce
arising from the same for
and towards the Maintenance
Education and support of my
said Son William Mee Lane
until he shall attain the
age of twenty one years and
when and as soon as he shall
have attained at that age
then In Trust to transfer
and pay the same to my said
Son to and for his own use
and benefit and I do hereby
Nominate constitute and
appoint the said Thomas
Sayer, Benjamin Timms and
Samuel Holloway Executors of
this my Will and Guardian of
my said Son and revoke all
former and other Wills by me
at any time heretofore made
and do declare this to be my
last Will and Testament this
twenty fifth day of June in
the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and
