The Will of Benjamin Tisdale Lane

 

In the name of God Amen I Benjamin Tisdale Lane Engraver of Duke Street Bloomsbury in the Parish of St Giles & St Georges in the fields in the County of Middlesex being in full possession of a sound mind & memory do make & declare this my last will & testament hereby revoking all will or wills heretofore made by me (provided I die unmarried) to be fulfilled as follows ffirst I request my father in law Samuel Bell Copper Plate Printer of the aforesaid Duke Street or those into whose care I may fall do see that I am privately & decently interd in the burial ground of St James Chaple in the Hampstead Road and I do hereby appoint my aforesaid father in law Samuel Bell and John Palmer Engraver of the Ordnance Department of the Tower of London my joint executors & trustees to this my last will & testament Item after my just debts and funeral expences are defrayed I give & bequeath unto my two half brothers Charles & Samuel ffitzwilliam Bell when the younger arrives at the full age of twenty one years all I possess here or elsewhere plate books cloaths linen money debts or security for money to be equally divided share and share alike I give unto my aforesaid half brothers Charles & Samuel ffitzwilliam Bell a silver breast plate which I request may never go out of the family to my esteemed friend John Palmer aforesaid I give my Edition of Miltons Paradise Lost as a small but sincere token of my respect all other property whatsoever or wheresoever or of what kind soever to be equally divided between my aforesaid half brothers Charles & Samuel ffitzwilliam Bell all moneys whatsoever after my just debts are defrayed to be placed in those public funds which my trustees shall deem best the interest to be applied equally in their ……other necessarys if any dispute arise between them concerning the division the preference to be in favour of the elder but as far as is possible to be fairly and equally in case of the demise of either the whole to go to the survivor or in default of both to my father in law Samuel Bell & his heirs if he should have more issue and in default of those to the heirs of Robert Bell deceased Brother of my aforesaid father in law In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & ten _ Benjamin Tisdale Lane
