The Will of William Lamboll

 

In the name of God Amen I William Lamboll of Bently in the County of Southampton yeoman being sicke and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory (Praysed be God for the same) And knowing the uncertainty of this life And being desirous to settle things in Order Doe make and declare this my last will and Testament in forme following (That is to say) ffirst and Principally I Comend my Soule to Almighty God my Creator assuredly beleiving that I Shall receive full pardon and free remission of all my Sinnes And be Saved by the precious death and meritts of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Christ Jesus And my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such decent and Christian manner As my Executors hereafter named Shalbe thought meete and Convenient And touching such worldly Estate as the Lord in his mercy hath lent me my will and meaning is the same shalbe employed and bestowed as hereafter by this will is expressed Imprimis I give and bequeath All those my Coppyhold Messuage or Tenement And Twenty Three acres of Arrable and pasture lands called the Rudlands situate lyeing and being in Bently aforesaid betweene the lands of William Bagin and the River there To my loveing Mother Elizabeth Lamboll for and during her naturall life And after her decease To my Loving brother John Lamboll of East Greenwich in the County of Kent Mariner his heires and assigns for ever And whereas there is about fforty pounds due and payable unto me from Sir John Norton of Tisted in the said County of Southampton Knight and Baronett for my Service as Coachman to the said Sir John Norton which my will and meaning is shal be disposed of as followeth Item I give and bequeath to my deare and loveing friend Ann Austin of Hackley (?) in the said County of Southampton Spinster the full Summe of Twenty pounds Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Lamboll Junior daughter to the above named John Lamboll the full Summe of Twenty pounds To be paid to them by my Executors hereafter named within One month after his receipt thereof from the said Sir John Norton Item I give and bequeath to My Said brother John Lamboll All the money Estate Clothes goods and Chattells which I shall be possessed of at the tyme of my decease Whom I make full and sole Executor of this my last will and Testament In Witness hereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this Second day of December Anno Domini One Thousand Six Hundred Sixty Seaven And in the nyneteenth yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord King Charles the Second over England William Lamboll

Memorandum it is the will of the above named William Lamboll That after the said John Lamboll Shall come to be possessed of the above named Coppyhold lands that the said John Lamboll shall pay to my brother Nicholas Lamboll of Bently aforesaid Three score pounds of lawfull money of England within One Yeare after he shall be possessed thereof William Lamboll
