In the name of god amen I Richard Laidman
of Gillmonby & parish of Bowes and County of York yeoman being
weak of body yet of perfect and sound mind & memory (praised be
god for the same) doo make & ordaine this my Last will &
Testament in manner, & form following that is to say First &
principally I give & bequeath my Soule into the hands of
allmighty god hopeing through the meritorious death, & passion
of Jesus christ my Saviour to obtain full pardon of all my Sinns,
and to inherit eternall life, and my body in a decent manner to
be buryed in the church yard of Bowes aforesaid att the
discretion of mine executrix hereafter namd, and as touching
that portion of temporalls god has bestowed upon me I bequeath,
& dispose off as followeth viz
Item my minde and will is that all my
debts, Legacies and funerall expenses be payd, and discharged by
mine executrix hereafter named Item I give, and bequeath to the
children of George Sayer all my wool equally to be divided among
them. Item All the rest, and residue of my personall estate
Goods & Chattells mouvable and immouvable I give , and bequeath
unto my Loveing wife Ann Laidman, and to my grandchild Thomas
Laidman1 equally to be divided betwixt them Item I
doo herebynominate & appoint my said Loveing wife, sole
executrix of this my Last will & Testament, and I doo hereby
revoak disanull [sic] and make voyd all other wills, and
testaments heretofore made by me In wittness whereof I have
hereunto sett my hand and seale this second day of December Anno
domini 1689
