This is the last Will and Testament of me Hannah Kirkby of Halstead in the County of Essex Spinster (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto my Cousin and Goddaughter Ann Bell of Nottingham my Gold Watch and one of my Gold Rings Also I give and bequeath unto my Cousin Mary Bell of Nottingham my silver gift watch Also I give and bequeath unto my Cousin Elizabeth Bell of Nottingham Silver tea spoons marked with the letters E H and one table spoon marked with the letters E B they having all been my mother’s Also I give and bequeath unto my friend Marianne Brothers of Nottingham as a small return for the numerous favours I have received from her and her family all my Wearing Apparel and clothes All the rest and residue of my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever after the Payment thereout of all my just debts funeral and Testamentary Expenses expenses of him my Executor in carrying this my Will into Effect I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved Brother John Kirkby of Leicester Gentleman to and for his own use absolutely And I do nominate constitute and appoint John ffoyster of Halstead in the County of Essex Silk manufacturer my sole Executor of this my Will I revoke all former Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Hannah Kirkby have hereunto set my hand and seal this the eighth day of September one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight Hannah Kirkby
