The Will of William Kimpton

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Kimpton of Somerville New Road Upperton Eastbourne in the County of Sussex Gentleman being collected and of a sound mind through the mercies of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the first place I direct that my just debts funeral and testamentary Expenses be paid as soon as convenient after my decease. I give and bequeath the Policy of Insurance on my life for Two hundred pounds with Bonuses in the Royal Exchange Life Assurance in the City of London to my Wife Harriott Kimpton for her own use and benefit. I also give and bequeath to my said Wife All my household Furniture plate Linen China and other Effects of the like nature that may be in my Dwellinghouse at the time of my decease for her use and benefit I give and bequeath tom my said Wife and my Sister Ann Kimpton in equal shares All the monies on deposit in the Banks with all Interest due thereon and also all my Shares and the dividends thereon. I give and bequeath to my said Wife my three Leasehold Houses in the New Road Upperton Eastbourne for and during her life Subject to the Rent and Covenants in the Leases under which I hold the same and at her decease I direct the said three houses to be sold by Auction or otherwise and the clear proceeds after deducting the Expenses of such Sale to be divided equally between my three Brothers Thomas Kimpton Richard Kimpton and Edward Kimpton or the Survivors or Survivor of them and in case of the death of either of them in the lifetime of my said Wife leaving lawful issue the share of him so dying to be paid to or divided between his Children my said three Brothers being now farming Lands at Strangeways near Newstead Melbourne Victoria. I give and bequeath my two Leasehold Houses Numbers 13 and 14 Lorrimore Square Walworth near London to my Sister Ann Kimpton during her life and at her decease I give and bequeath Number 13 to my Sister Sarah North and I give and bequeath Number 14 to my Sister Catherine Tibbet Subject to the Rent and Covenants in the Leases under which I hold the same respectively. I give devise and bequeath my freehold Cottage and Premises at Toft in the County of Cambridge to my Sister the said Sarah North and her husband Enoch North for their lives and the life of the Survivor of them and at the decease of the Survivor I give devise and bequeath the said freehold Cottage and Premises to my Sister the said Catherine Tibbet As to the rest and residue of my Estate and Effects I give and bequeath the same to my Executor In trust to be sold and the clear proceeds to be equally divided between my said two Sisters and my said three Brothers And in case of the death of either of them in my lifetime leaving a Child or Children such Child or Children to take their Parent’s share. And I Appoint my said Wife Harriott Kimpton my said Sister Ann Kimpton and my Nephew Edward Tibbet Executrixes and Executor of this my Will making void any Will by me heretofore made and declaring this to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this seventh day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty five W Kimpton
