The Will of Matthew Kenrick
In the Name of God Amen I Matthew Kenrick Doctor of Laws Rector of
Bletchingley in the County of Surry do make publish and declare my last Will
and Testament in Manner following that is to say I will and desire that all
such just Debts as I shall owe at the Time of my Decease together with my
funeral Expences and the Charges of Proving this my Will will be in the
first Place paid and satisfied I give and bequeath unto The Reverend Joseph
Sharpe at this Time my Curate at Bletchingley aforesaid the Sum of two
hundred Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to him within six
Months after my Decease whether he shall be my Curate or not and wheresoever
he shall be living at that time Also I direct my Executor herein after named
as soon as conveniently may be but within six Months after my decease to lay
out And invest the Sum of one thousand Pounds in the public Stocks or ffunds
in his Name And my will is that my said Executor shall and do stand
possessed of and interested in the Stocks or ffunds so to be purchased upon
the Trusts and to and for the Intents and Purposes herein after mentioned
expressed and declared of and concerning the same that is to say upon Trust
to pay the Interest Dividends and Annual Proceeds thereof to Mrs Maria
Burrow Widow of Robert Burrow late of Marlborough Castle in the said County
of Surry and of Welbeck Street in the Parish of Saint Mary le bone in the
County of Middlesex Esquire for and during the Term of her natural life And
from and after the decease of the said Maria Burrow upon further Trust to
assign and transfer the said Stocks or ffunds in or upon which the said Sum
of one thousand Pounds shall have been so laid out or invested to my God Son
Robert Burrow Son of the said Maria Burrow and Maria Burrow Daughter of the
said Maria Burrow Widow and their respective Exors Admors and Assigns in
equal Shares and Proportions Share and Share alike And in case either of
them the said Robert Burrow and Maria Burrow the Daughter shall happen to
die in the Life Time of their Mother the said Maria Burrow Widow then to
transfer and Assign the whole of the said Stocks or ffunds to the Survivor
of them the said Robert Burrow and Maria Burrow the Daughter his or her
Executors Administrators and Assigns And as to all the Rest Residue and
Remainder of my Estate and Effects both real and Personal either in
Possession Reversion Remainder or Expectancy whatsoever and wheresoever I
give devise and bequeath the same to my Brother The Revd Jarvis Kenrick
Vicar of Chilham in the County of Kent his Heirs Executors Admors and
Assigns absolutely according to the several Natures thereof respectively And
I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Brother Jarvis Kenrick
sole Executor of this my Will In Witness whereof I have to two Parts of this
my Will set my hand and Seal this thirtieth day of April in the Year of our

I Matthew Kenrick Doctor of Laws Rector of Bletchingley in the County of
Surry do make publish and declare this as and for a Codicil to my last Will
and Testament bearing date the thirtieth day of April last that is to say In
case my Nephew The Revd Jarvis Kenrick Clerk LLB shall succeed me after my
Decease as Rector of Bletchingley aforesaid or if he shall have been
presented and inducted thereto on any Resignation of the said Rectory by me
in my Life Time then I give devise and bequeath unto my said Nephew Jarvis
Kenrick the ffarm Lands Heredits and Premises situate and being at
Bletchingley aforesaid with the Appurts thereunto belonging now in the
Occupation of George Rose To hold the same to my said Nephew Jarvis Kenrick
and his Assigns so long as he shall live and continue as Rector of
Bletchingley aforesaid but from and immediately after his Decease
Resignation or Deprivation of the said Rectory of Bletchingley aforesaid
then I give devise and bequeath the said ffarm Lands Heredits and Premises
unto my Brother Jarvis Kenrich his Heirs and Assigns for ever And I do
hereby ratify and confirm my said Will in all other Respects In Witness
whereof I have to two Parts of this Codicil set my Hand and Seal this
nineteenth Day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
