The Will of Dorothy Kenny

 

In the name of God Amen The eight day of March Anno dm 1649 Dorothy Kenny als Kennett of Dorking in the county of Surrey Spinster servant unto William Hooker of Dorking aforesaid being sicke in body but of sound and perfect memory made her last will and testament nuncupative in manner and forme following vizt shee gave to Elizabeth Hooker daughter of the said William Hooker her Bible a laced handkerchief and a lace paire of cuffes To Elizabeth Halswood eldest daughter of George Halswood of Dorking aforesaid Labourer a smocke To Elizabeth Halsewood youngest daughter of the said George her stockinge and sheete and a Linsey Woolsey apron To her two brethren and her Sister she gave two pence apiece; to be distributed at her burial in bread and beer fower shillings And all the rest of her goods chattels mony and debts oweing unto her shee gave and bequeathed unto William Hooker aforesaid and Elizabeth his wife whom she made her Executors These or the like words she spake in the presence of Daniell Hill of Dorking aforesaid yeoman and Alice Halsewood wife of the above named George Halsewood the day and yeare above written Signed Daniell Hill signed Alice Halsewood
