In the Name of God Amen I John Kempe of Horsham in the County of Sussex Keeper being sick in body but of sound & disposing mind & understanding Doe make & Ordaine this my last Will & Testamt hereby revoking & making void all former Wills Whereas my Four Younger Children Elizabeth Ann Richard & Henry are at present unable to provide for themselves & will require the aid & assistance of my Dear Loving Wife Elizabeth to bring them up & put them out Apprentices or otherwise as may be found most for their Advantage by my said Wife And Whereas I have placed out Apprentice my five older Sons John Thomas Francis Edward & William the Four First thereof have served their times out & are now able to provide for themselves in the world upon which Consideration I doe give unto them all & every of my said Children five Shillings apeice only And I doe Give all the rest & residue of my money & my Securities for moneys And all my household Goods Linnen Plate Rings & all my houses Oxen Cows Hoggs piggs & Sheep & all other my personal Estate whatsoever & wheresoever unto my said Dear & loving Wife Elizabeth upon all Confidence that my said Dear & loving Wife doe & shall maintain & bring up my said Younger Children Elizabeth Ann Richard & Henry & put them out Apprentices or otherwise as shall be most for their advantage & to be afterwards held enjoyed & disposed of by my said Wife as she shall think fitt And I doe nominate Constitute & appoint my said dear & Loving Wife Elizabeth sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testamt In testimony whereof I the said John Kemp have hereunto sett my Hand & Seal the Eighteenth Day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred & Twenty Seven
