The Will of
Richard Judge
In the Name of God Amen! I Richard Judge of
Wapenham in the County of Northampton Husbandman, being at this time in
perfect Memory Thanks be to God,
but Considering my Age & Indisposition of my Body, do make this my Last
Will & Testament in Manner & Form following. First I bequeath my soul
into the hands of my merciful Creator, Trusting through the merits of
Jesus Christ my Saviour to obtain pardon of my sins. And my Body to be
buried at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter Named. Item I give my
house wherein I now live in Wapenham & the Land thereunto belonging
lying and being in the Fields in Wapenham aforesaid,& also my Close at
Wythemore in Abthorp in the Parish of Towcester, with the Appurtenances
thereunto belonging, as also all my Goods Chattels & Cattel, alive or
dead, & all my Personal Estate whatsoever or wheresoever To my dear wife
Mary & to her Heirs for ever, upon this Especial Trust, that out of the
same house, Land & Close, & Personal Estate aforesaid, she maintain her
self, pay my Just Debts, & breed up my Children honestly & virtuously
till such time as they shall be bale, & of Age, to get their own
Livings; And upon this further Trust, that my said wife in her like
time, by her Will or other writing signed by three Witnesses, do settle
all my house, Land & Close above said with their Appurtenances, & also
all such personal Estate as above said, as she shall have, & be in any
way possest of at the time of her decease, in the Hands of some Faithful
Trustee or Trustees as she shall think fit, to Impower the said Trustee
or Trustees to sell all her said Real or Personal Estate aforesaid, as
soon as the said Estate can be sold, Equally among All my Children tht
shall appear to be Living at the death of my said dear wife Mary share 7
share alike, Except tht out of the share tht shall fall to my Eldest son
John Judge of Brackley, tht Trustee or Trustees shall deduct five pounds
& pay the said five pounds so deducted, to my Grand son, the son of the
said John Judge. Item I make my said wife Mary my sole Executrix of this
my Will, & I do revoke all former Wills by me made.In witness whereof I
have here unto sett my hand & seal the Twenty second day of January in
the year of our Lord 1705
