The Will of Joanna Judge

 

To Prevent disputes after my decease I desire the undermentioned things may be disposed of, in the following manner to my son Joseph Judge the Silver Tankard my Silver Shoe Buckles the large Bible and Testament to my Daughter Mary Clark a Gold Chain & Locket one large Silver Spoon one small. one Home Mourning Ring Six Mahogany Chairs One Mahogany Card Table Six B.. in China Plates one Brass Mortar one Pier Glass one Chamber Stove all my shifts one Book..Apron one long spoon two thick Muslin Handkerchiefs all my Night Caps one White Dimity under Petticoat one Best Russell & one best Crape Wight Gown one Grey Silk & one Green Damask & one long satin Cloak three Damask Napkins one Good Pair of Sheets two Pair of Pillow Cases To Mr Hays one Silver Cup to Mrs Hays one copper Ring a long Pier Glass a large chest to my daughter Hanna Hayes four large Silver Spoons a China Punch Bowl a Tea Chest and in it Six silver Spoons Tongs and strainer to my Granddaughter Sarah Hayes one silver porringer to my Granddaughter Elizabeth Judge a Silver Snuff Box to my Granddaughter Joanna Judge Silver Ring To Mr Clark twenty shillings for a Ring To Mrs Judge twenty shillings for a Ring with a brown silk Night Gown. To my Daughter Joanna Seymour the Remaining Part of Household furniture Linnen and Wearing Apparel plate Glass china and Earthenware Copper Brass the House to be valued and sold But not out of the family except as agreed amongst ourselves. And after Mr Hays is fully satisfied what may Remain to be equally divided between Mary Clark Joanna Seymour Elizabeth Hays and Joseph Judge Mr Hays to receive Rent and pay dues till settled and disposed of and this is my real desire as Witness my hand Joanna Judge

On the twentieth day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy two Administration with the Will annexed of the Goods Chattles and Credits of Joanna Judge of the Parish of Saint John Southwark in the County of Surry Widow deceased was granted to Mary Clarke (Wife of Thomas Clarke) the daughter of the deceased and one of the Residuary Legatees named in the said Will (no Executor being named therein) she having been first sworn duly to administer Joanna Seymour Widow Elizabeth Hays Wife of John Hays and Joseph Judge the other natural lawful and only Children of the said deceased and the other Residuary Legatees named in the said Will having first consented
