The Will of John Johnson
This is to certify that I John Johnson of No 40
Fountain Street East Macclesfield in the County of Cheshire do hereby
declare this to be my last Will and Testament and I do hereby appoint James
Wheeldon of Macclesfield and George Locket of Leek as my executors to carry
out my instructions hereinafter given I wish my executors aforementioned to
withdraw from the Post Office Savings Bank what ,ay be standing there to my
credit at my decease also the money standing to my credit in the Cooperative
Society also the money from the Burial Club And I do also hereby empower my
said executors to sell by public auction all my household furniture and
other effects and to see me decently buried and to discharge all debts
arising from the same and whatever there may be remaining after all my just
debts are paid I give and bequeath to my nephews and nieces hereinafter
mentioned the said remaining monies in equal shares namely George Locket Mrs
Birch and Mr Jackson all residing at Leek Mr Milboard of Princes Street
Bradford Tom Johnson George Johnson Mary Johnson and Hannah Johnson residing
in Manchester and my daughter in law Sarah Ann Johnson residing in Brook
Street Macclesfield there must be no distinction whatsoever share and share
alike as far as the money will go Witness my hand this eleventh day of June
one thousand eight hundred and ninety eight John Johnson
