being of sound and
disposing mind Memory
and Understanding
praised be God for the
same and being mindful
of my mortality and
knowing that it is
appointed to all men
once to die and that it
is a duty resting upon
me to set my house in
order Do make publish
and declare this my last
Will and testament in
manner following ffirst
I commend my Soul into
the hands of Almighty
God my Creator hoping
for remission of all my
Sins through the
....merits and all
prevailing Intercession
of my Saviour Jesus
Christ my body I commit
to the Earth to be
buried in a plain manner
without any funeral pomp
whatever And as to all
my worldly estate both
real and personal I give
devise and bequeath the
same as follows (that is
to say) I give and
bequeath unto my dearly
beloved Daughter Eliza
Jennings the sum of five
thousand pounds of
lawful money current in
Great Britain to be paid
to her by my Executor
herein after named
within twelve Calendar
months next after my
decease And I give and
bequeath unto Winifred
Jennings Widow of my
late Brother John
Jennings the sum of
Sixty pounds of like
Money Also I give and
bequeath unto my Nephew
John Jennings of
Coleford in the County
of Gloucester Surgeon
the Sum of One hundred
pounds and to my Niece
Mira Jennings Daughter
of my said late Brother
the like Sum of One
hundred pounds the said
several last mentioned
legacies to be paid
within twelve Calendar
Months next after my
decease And all the Rest
Residue and Remainder of
my personal Estate And
all my real Estate
whatsoever and
wheresoever after
payment of my just debts
and my funeral and
testamentary Expences
and the aforesaid
legacies I give devise
and bequeath the same
and every part thereof
unto my dearly beloved
