The Last Will and
Testament of the
Reverend Jenkin Jenkins
of Donington in the
County of Hereford
whereby I give and
bequeath unto my
Daughter in Law ffrances
Wife of my Son Edward
Jenkins the sum of
twenty Pounds unto my
faithful old Servant
Betty Chambers daughter
of the late Mr John
Brown of the Parish of
New.... in the County of
Gloster in trust to my
Son Edward Jenkins the
sum of fifty Pounds for
her sole & separate use
without ... the control
of her Husband in any
respect whatever And I
give unto my Son Charles
the sum of twenty Pounds
.... my just debts are
paid and my ffuneral
expences which are to be
as frugal as possible
nothing but a plain
coffin without ornament
& neither hatbands
Scarfs or gloves to be
given on the occasion
but unto each of the
bearers of my corpse to
the Grave the sum of
five shillings are to be
given the Rest of my
Personal Estate of what
kindsoever and
wheresoever that I die
possessed I give and
bequeath to my two
Grandsons John Philip
Jenkins and Jenkin
Edward Jenkins Children
of my Son John Jenkins
Surgeon in trust to my
Son Edward Jenkins who
is to convert the said
Personals into money as
soon as possible after
my decease and the
amount thereof with all
monies due me by Bond or
otherwise or that I die
possessed of be laid out
in good & proper
Securities with lawful
Interest thereon & all
such Interest to be laid
out by the aforesaid
Edward Jenkins in
educating my said two
Grandsons and when the
eldest thereof shall
arrive at the age of
eighteen then the said
Edward Jenkins is to pay
or cause to be paid to
the said Grandson a
moiety of all monies
arising from the sale of
my Personal Estate or
otherwise with all
Interest due on the
moiety and the remaining
moiety to be paid by the
said Edward Jenkins to
the other said Grandson
before named when he
shall arrive at the Age
of eighteen years with
all the Interest which
may be due thereon and
in case one of my said
Grandsons should not
live to the age of
eighteen the surviving
Grandson is to have the
whole sum principal &
Interest when he attains
the age of eighteen or
should he have attained
that age at the decease
of his Brother but
should providence so
ordain that neither of
my said Grandsons should
arrive at the age of
eighteen then and in
that case my Will is
that all the .......
monies & Interest be
equally divided share
and share alike between
my Sons Edward Jenkins
and John Jenkins and I
do hereby appoint the
said Edward Jenkins and
the said John Jenkins
Executors of this my
last Will and Testament
hereby revoking and
annulling all former
Wills heretofore made by
me In testimony whereof
I have hereunto set my
Hand and Seal this first
day of October in the
year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred
