The Will of William Jenden

In the name of God Amen the fourth day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Six hundred & eighty I William Jenden of Horseham in the County of Sussex Shoemaker beinge att the writinge hereof in health & good memory doe wth my owne hand make this my last Will & Testamt in manner & forme followinge first I commend my Spiritt unto the mercifull hands of almighty God stedfastly beleiveing the pardon & remission of all my Sins through the meritts of the death & passion of our Lord & saviour Jesus Christ and my body I comitt to the earth to bee decently buryed at the discretion of my Son & my Extrix here after named and my Worldly goods I give and bequeath as followeth Imprimis I give to my Son William Jenden the Sum of tenn pounds to be pd him within twelve months after my decease Item I give to my daughter Sarah the Sum of one hundred pounds to bee pd unto her att the day of her marriage upon Condition shee and her husband or either of them shall obtaine a Testimoniall under the hand & Seale of their Mothers consent if shee shalbee then liveinge otherwise I give her but the Sum of fifty pounds Item I give more to my daughter Sarah one hundred & forty pounds to bee due & payable to her at the time of the death of my Extrix I give to my daughter Elizabeth the Sum of one hundred pounds to bee pd unto her att the day of her marryage upon Condition shee or her supposed husband or either of them shall obtaine a Testimoniall of her Mothers consent under the hand & Seale of her mother if shee shal bee then liveinge otherwise I give her but the Sum of fifty pounds that shall be payable att her marryage Item I give more to my daughter Sarah one hundred & forty pounds to bee due & payable to her at the time of the death of her mother All the rest of my Goods & money & debts due & oweinge to mee I give to my Wife whom I make my Whole & Sole Extrix And I enviate my friends in Nathaniell Tredcroft & Nicholas Best to bee Counsell to my Extrix & Children att any time when they shall apply themselves to them or either of them for itt In Witnesse hereunto I have sett ny hand & Seale the day & year above written
