the Name of God Amen I
Charity Jeken of
Nightingale Lane within
the Manor of
Eastsmithfield in the
Parish of Saint Botolph
Without Aldgate in the
County of Middlesex
widow of the late John
Jeken late Boatswain of
His Majestys Ship the
Panther being weak in
Body but of perfect Mind
and Memory thanks be
given unto God for it
and calling to mind the
Mortality of my Body and
knowing that it is
appointed for all
persons once to die Do
make and ordain this my
last will and Testament
in manner and form
following that is to say
Principally and first of
All I recommend my Soul
into the Hands of
Almighty God who gave it
and as for my Body I
recommend it to the
Earth to be buried in a
decent manner at the
discretion of my
Executor hereinafter
named and as for such
Worldly Estate and
Effects wherewith it
hath pleased God to
bless me in this life I
give devise and dispose
of the same in manner
and form following that
is to say I give and
bequeath to my Cousin
Samuel Knightley of
Upper East Smithfield in
the Manor ofn East
Smithfield in the Parish
of Saint Botolph Without
Aldgate in the County of
Middlesex Pawnbroker the
Sum of one Shilling of
lawful Money of Great
Britain Also I give and
bequeath to Henry
Knightley son of
Elizabeth Knightley
Widow of the Parish of
Saint George Southwark
in the County of Surry
the Sum of one Shilling
of like Money Also I
give and bequeath to
William Knightley Son of
the aforesaid Elizabeth
Knightley Widow the Sum
of Ten Pounds of lawful
Money of Great Britain
also I give and bequeath
to John Purdy the Elder
of Nightingale Lane in
the Manor of East
Smithfield in the Parish
of Saint Botolph Without
Aldgate in the County of
Middlesex Taylor all the
rest residue and
remainder of my Personal
Estate Goods and
Chattels of what kind or
Nature soever after all
my Just Debts and
funeral Expences are
fully Paid and
Discharged to be by him
freely and fully
possessed and enjoyed &
lastly I nominate
constitute and appoint
my Good friend John
Purdy the Elder
aforesaid my only and
sole Executor of this my
last Will and Testament
hereby revoking and
making void all other
former Wills and
Testaments by me
heretofore made
Ratifying and confirming
this only and no other
to be my last Will and
Testament In Witness
whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and Seal
this twenty Eighth Day
of November in the Year
of our Lord one thousand
