The Will of Edward Jeffery

 

In the name of God Amen I Edward Jeffery of Tingewick in the County of Bucks beinge aged and somewhat infirme of body but of sound and pfect mind and memory praised bee God therefore yet callinge To mind the uncerteynty of this fraile and human Life doe make this my Last Will and Testamt in manner followinge ffirst I comitt and comend my soul When severed from my body into the hands of the Allmity God hopeinge that by and through the Alone merits mediation death and passion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to bee made a partataker of his heavenly kingdom my body I comitt to the earth from whence itt came to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named my worldly estate which God hath byn pleased to beesto upon me I dispose as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath to my sonne Joseph Jeffery Twelve pence of good and Lawfull money of England Item I give to my eldest Daughter Susanna Cox five pounds of Lawfull money of England to bee paid to her within one yeare next After my Decese Item I give and bee Queath to my Daughter Patience Lane five pounds of good and Lawfull money of England to bee paid to her Within on yeare next After my Decese Item I give to my sonne Mathew Jeffery Twelve pence of Like money to bee paid to him Within on yeare next After my decese Item I give to my Daughter Mary Warrin tenn shillings of Like Lawfull money of England to bee paid to her within on yeare next after My decese Item I give and bee Queath to My two Grandaughters Anne & Mary Warring five pounds good and Lawfull Money of England to bee paid to them Within on yeare next After my Decese and to bee equally devided betwixt them two Item I give & bee queath two my Granchildren Margaret Lane & Elizabeth Lane & Mary Lane & Samuel Lane five pounds of good and Lawfull Money of England two bee paid to them within on yeare next after my Decese and to bee equally devided Amongst them all then Living Item I give to my Granson Joseph Jeffery Twenty Shillings of good and Lawfull Money of England to bee paid to him within on yeare next after my Decese Item I give to my Sonne Samuel Jeffery Twelve pence of Like money to bee paid as aforesd and...I give him all my Carts…after my decease allso My Will and desire...Legacies….as Moveable cattells and chattells rights??..quality soever where??hands soever Not herein before bequeathed I give and bee Queath unto my Loveing Wife whom I hereby doe make full and sole Executrix of this My Last Will and testamt hereby revoakinge all former will or wills heretofore by me made and this to bee taken for my Last Will and testament In witnes where of I have hereunto set my hand and Seale the fourteenth Day of August In the fourth yeare of our Most Gracious Lord James the Second King over England
