The Will of Michael Jeall
In the
Name of God Amen I Michael Jeall
of the parish of Dorking in the
County of Surrey yeoman being
but weake of body but in good
and perfect memory, blessed be
the name of the Lord for it, doe
make constitute And ordayne this
to be my last will and Testament
Revoking all former Wills by me
made Spoken or Done Now in
manner and forme followinge
ffirst I commit my Soule into
the hands of the Lord my most
faithfull Creator and mercifull
preserver hopeing only to be
saved by the merritts and
mediation of the Lord Jesus
Christ my mercifull Redeemer And
my Body I committ to the earth
from whence it came to be buryed
in the parish Churchyard of
Dorking at the discretion of my
Executors hereafter named ; And
those worldly Goods which it
hath pleased the Lord to endow
mee wthall I give and bequeath
as followeth; Imprimis I give
and bequeath unto my wellbeloved
wife Elizabeth Jeall all my
goods in the parlar Chamber as
it is ready furnished with
Beding Linen and other moveables
invit to her for ever And alsoe
the use of the prlor Chamber
Dureing my now Lease of Land
plate ffarme wth free egress and
regress for her own own use of
any firewood for the said
Chamber shee payinge for taking
of the said wood as shee useth
their Alsoe I give unto my wife
one halfe of all the Lynnen in
my howse as namely Sheete Table
Clothes and Napkins and all
other necessary Linnen belonging
to the howse to be at her owne
disposinge The other halfe of my
Lynen I give and bequeath unto
my eldest sonne William Jeall
and my sonne Michaell to them
and their heires for ever; Item
I give unto my youngest sonn
William Jeall the sume of Tenn
pounds of good and lawfull money
of England to be paid within six
moneths after my decease; Item I
give unto my Daughter Rebecca
Jeall the Sume of ffowrescore
pounds of lawfull money of
England to be paid within six
moneths after my decease; Item I
give unto my Daughter Sarah
Jeall the Sume of ffowrescore
pounds of lawfull money of
England to be paid within six
moneths after my decease; Item I
give unto my Daughter Abigail
Jeall the Sume of ffowrescore
pounds of lawfull money of
England to be paid within six
moneths after my decease; And
further my will is that the
aforesaid portions of
ffowrescore pounds apeece given
to my three Daughters Rebecca
Sarah and Abigail shalbe soe
paid that my welbeloved Wife
shall have the benifitt of
imploying the said portions
duringe the tyme of my said
Daughters liveinge with her as
are any wages chargeable to her
before the tyme of their
marriage; and my will is that if
any of my three Daughters Doe
depart this life before they
marry that then the portion of
such Daughter Deceased bee
equally Devided to the two
liveinge Daughters whichsoever
it be of three as Rebecca sarah
and Abigail and not any other
wayse; Item I give and bequeath
unto my ffowre Grandchildren
borne of Elizabeth my Daughter
now wife of William Tudham of
Dorking Butcher as namely
William Tudham John Tudham
Michaell Tudham and Elizabeth
Tudham the Sume of fforty
shillings apeece of lawfull
money of England to be paid for
the use of the said Children to
each child the Sume of ffourty
Shillings to be paid withn Six
moneths after my Decease; Item I
give and bequeath unto my
Grandchild borne of my Daughter
Mary nowe wife of Nicholas
Constable of the of Cappell in
the County of Surrey the Sume of
fforty shillings to0 be paid in
Six moneths after my Decease for
the use of the said Mary my
Grandchild And further my will
is That if my said Daughter Mary
the wife of Nicholas Constable
shall have another Child borne
within twelve moneths after my
Decease be it a Sonne or a
Daughter I then give unto
ffourty Shillings to be paid for
the use of the said Child within
six moneths after the Birth of
the said Child; Item I give unto
my naturall brother Richard
Jeall the Sume of Ten Shillings
a yeare dureing his naturall
life to be paid duly to him by
my Executors hereafter named; I
give unto William Jeallmy oldest
Sone the Some of ffifty pounds
to be paid within six monehts
after my decease; All the rest
of my goods and Chattells,
Bills, Bonds, Debts amd moneye,
my Lease of Land plate ffarme
Stocks Corne and Cattell Sheepe
or any Goods whatsoever not
formerly given in this my Will
payinge my Debts and Legacyes
before given my ffunerall Charge
and my eldest Sonne William
Jeall haveinge the ffifty pounds
of good and lawfull money of
England duely paid to him as I
have before in this my will
given to him; I give all the
Rest of my goods and Chattells
as I say before unto my eldest
Sonne William Jeall and unto my
Sonne Michaell Jeall to them and
their heires forever, whom I doe
make my whole and sole Executors
of this my last Will and
Testament equally Executors one
with the otherof all goods and
Chattells whatsoever; And lastly
I Doe intreate my loveinge
Brother in Law Gilbert Bustone
of Dorkinge yeoman my loveinge
Cozen Overington Jeall of
Ewhurst and my loveinge ffriend
William Bothell of Dorking
Chandler to be my Overseers of
this my last Will and Testament
and Doe give unto every of them
the Sume of Tenn Shillings
apeece to be helpfull unto my
two Executors William Jeall and
Michaell Jeall in fulfillinge
and performance of this my last
Will and Testament conteyninge
two sheets of paper the said
Michaell Jeall have here written
sett my hand and seale this
ffower and Twenty day of Aprill
in the yeare of our Lord God One
