The Will of John Jeaken

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Jeaken now Boatswain of the Nonsuch Man of Warr lying at Portsmouth being of sound and disposing Mind and Memory Doe for the preventing disputes after my death make publish and Declare my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First and Principally I commend my Soul to God who gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to bestow thereof and as for and touching all such Worldly Estates as I shall dye possessed of Interested in or Intitled unto at the time of my death I give devise and bequeath the same in manner following Imprimis I order that all my just Debts be fully paid and satisfied Item I give devise and bequeath unto my loving Wife Charity all that my Moiety or half Part and Share which I hold equally with my Aunt Elizabeth Jeaken Widow of in and to all that ffreehold Messuage or Dwelling house Outhouses Garden and the half Leese of thereunto belonging situate and being in Queenburrough in the County of Kent To hold to her my said loving Wife Charity her Heirs and Assigns for ever for ever which said Dwelling House and Premises are now in the Occupation of one William Head a Shoemaker his undertenants or assigns Item All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever both Reall and Personall which I shall dye possessed of Interested in or Entitled unto I give devise and bequeath the same and every part and parcell thereof  unto my said loving Wife Charity her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever And I doe hereby make Constitute and Appoint my said loving Wife Charity the full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I doe hereby revoke all former Wills by me made and Declare these Presents to be and contain my only last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my Hand and Seal this Twenty eighth day of ffebruary in the Year of our Lord 1739 John Jeken
