The Will of Thomas Jago
|
In the Name of
God Amen I Thomas Jago of the Town
of Mevagissey in the County of
Cornwall Merchant being of sound and
disposing mind memory and
understanding praised be God for the
same do publish and Declare this my
last Will and Testament in manner
and form following hereby revoking
all former Wills by me made ffirst I
will that my ffuneral charges and
Debts shall be paid Also I give and
bequeath to my Sons in Law John
Pearce and William Blake the Sum of
Six hundred Pounds each to be paid
them by installments by my Executors
herein After named in the following
Proportions that is to say two
hundred pounds each within one year
after my decease two hundred pounds
more each within two years after my
decease and two hundred pounds more
each being the remainder of the said
sum of six hundred pounds within
three Years after my decease Also I
give and bequeath unto my Daughters
Ann Jago Hester Jago and ffaith Jago
All that leasehold Dwelling House
wherein I now live and the Warehouse
opposite the same share and share
alike to take as Tenants in common
and not as joint Tenants and their
respective Executors Admors and
Assigns for and during all the rest
residue and remainder of my Estate
and Interest therein also I give and
bequeath unto the said Ann Jago
Hester Jago and ffaith Jago all the
Household goods ffurniture Plate
Linen and Household Utensils and
Goods Wares and
Merchandises....belonging to the
said dwelling House and Warehouse
Also I give unto my said Daughters
Ann Jago Hester Jago and ffaith Jago
the sum of One thousand pounds to be
paid them by my Executors
hereinafter named to the Purpose of
carrying on the said Trade to be
paid them at the following times and
in the following proportions that is
to say three hundred pounds part of
the said sum of One thousand pounds
within one year after my decease
three hundred pounds another part of
the said sum of One thousand pounds
within two years after my decease
and four hundred pounds being the
remainder of the said sum of One
thousand pounds within three years
after my decease Also it is my Will
that my said Daughters shall have
free access to my Gardens and shall
and may when and as they shall think
proper take from thence any
Vegetables ffruit or other Produce
thereof And it is my Will that my
Executors shall on my Leasehold
Premises in the Parish of Mevagissey
find Provide and maintain one Cow
for the use of them the said Ann
Jago Hester Jago and ffaith Jago
respectively Also I give devise and
bequeath unto my Sons John Sampson
Jago and Stephen Rice Jago all that
my ffreehold Tenement in Goran To
Hold to the said John Sampson Jago
and Stephen Rice Jago for and during
their natural lives as Tenants in
common and not as joint Tenants and
after the death of the said Stephen
Rice Jago he dying in the life time
of the said John Sampson Jago I give
devise and bequeath his Moiety of
the said Tenement unto the said
John Sampson Jago during his life
and from and after the death of the
said John Sampson Jago then I give
devise and bequeath the said Moiety
unto William and Thomas the Sons of
the said John Sampson Jago as
Tenants in common and not as joint
Tenants and as for the other Moiety
of the said Tenement hereinbefore
given and bequeathed to the said
John Sampson Jago I give and
bequeath the same after the death of
the said John Sampson Jago to the
before named William and Thomas
their Heirs and Assigns for ever as
Tenants in common and not as joint
Tenants Also I give and bequeath to
my said Sons John Sampson Jago and
Stephen Rice Jago their Executors
Administrators and Assigns as
Tenants in common and not as joint
Tenants all my Leasehold Messuages
and Tenements whatsoever and
wheresoever situate and also all the
rest residue and remainder of my
Estate of what nature or kind and
quality soever the same may be not
herein before given and disposed of
to and for their own use and benefit
absolutely And I do hereby make
ordain constitute and appoint the
said John Sampson Jago and Stephen
Rice Jago Executors of this my last
Will and Testament hereby revoking
all former and other Wills by me at
any time heretofore made In Witness
whereof the said Thomas Jago the
Testator have to this my last Will
contained in two Sheets of Paper set
my Hand at the bottom of the first
Sheet And my Hand and Seal to this
second and last sheet this third day
of July in the Year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and one
