The Will of Thomas Ivory

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Stephen Izzard of Bridgnorth in the County of Salop Gentleman made this day of May One thousand eight hundred and twenty two O Lord into thy hands I commit my spirit ffirst I direct that all my ffuneral and testamentary Expences shall be fully paid and discharged I give and bequeath to my Nephew Silas Barton of Wallop in the County of Hants Mercer and Draper the Sum of three hundred Pounds four Per Cents Stock and in case of his death before the said Legacy becomes payable to his Children (if more than one) to be equally divided amongst them and if but one then to such only Child Also I give to Sarah Howell wife of George Howell of Deptford in the County of Kent the Sum of ffour hundred Pounds four Per Cents Stock to and for her seperate use and benefit notwithstanding her present or any future Coverture and her receipt alone to be a good discharge for the same Also I give to Mary Oxley of the City of London Widow the Sum of three hundred Pounds four Per Cents Stock and in case of her death before the said Legacy becomes payable I give the same to her Son William Oxley a Clerk in the Bank of England Also I give to Benjamin Yate the Younger of Bridgnorth aforesaid the Sum of ffifty Pounds together with my Watch and two Small Seals Also I give to the trustees or treasurers of the Salop Infirmary for the time being for the use and benefit of that Institution  the Sum of twenty five Pounds and the Sum of thirty Pounds to the Institution called the Dispensary in Bridgnorth aforesaid Also I give the Sum of twenty five Pounds to the trustees of the National School lately established in Bridgnorth aforesaid Also I give the Sum of twenty five Pounds to the Society for promoting and propagating Christian Knowledge in fforeign Countries Also I give to my Servant Elizabeth Price two hundred Pounds four Per Cents Stock all which Several Legacies before given I direct shall be payable and paid as soon as conveniently may be after the decease of my Wife and not sooner nor shall they though vested bear any Interest until after that Event as a small testimony of my respect I give to my Sister in law Mrs Samuel Bell a Mourning Ring I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my real and Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever whether in possession reversion remainder or expectancy and of what nature kind or quality soever being to my dear Wife Mary Izzard to hold to her and her heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely and for ever And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife and the said Benjamin Yate Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament and revoke all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year first within written Stephen Izzard
