The Will of Richard Illingworth

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Illingworth late of the City and County of Bristol Public Accountant but now of Caerleon in the County of Monmouth I give devise & bequeath all my Estate and Effects real and personal of which I shall be possessed or to which I am entitled at the time of my death to Charles Paul of the City and County of Bristol upon trust to convert and... the same into money and to invest the ...... proceeds thereof in ........ securities or upon mortgage of lands or tenements of inheritance with power to vary or transpose such investments and securities from time to time as may appear desireable And upon trust that he the said Charles Paul and his executors and administrators do and shall receive the dividends interest and produce from time to time arising from such investments and pay the same dividends interest and produce to my dear wife Margaret during her life for her sole use and benefit separately from and independent of and not subject to the control debts or engagements of any future husband in the event ...... no child of myself and my said wife at the time of my said wife’s decease or in the event of every such child dying under the age of twenty one years then upon trust for such person or persons to and for use or uses and intents and purposes as my said wife by her last will and testament or...... deed or instrument or instrument in writing to be by her signed and executed in the presence of two or more witnesses shall appoint....or direct And in default of any such appointment limitation or.... so far as the same may not extend or may be inoperative upon...... my own next of kin under the statute of distribution And I hereby will and direct that the receipt of my said wife under her hand shall be the only ..... and sufficient discharge to my trustee his executors or administrators for  the monies to be paid under this my will And I do hereby authorize and empower my said wife to make sign or execute any such will and testament ....... deed or instrument or instrument in writing aforesaid notwithstanding that she may be at the time under coverture It having since occurred to me that my wife may be more benefitted with the free use under her trustee’s discretion of the money and property hereby left her considering the small... the same I hereby notwithstanding what is above stated hereby authorise the said Charles Paul to apply the said monies property and every or any part thereof for the benefit of my said wife and her representatives according to his entire discretion And lastly I hereby nominate and appoint the said Charles Paul sole Executor of this my will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of January one thousand eight hundred and forty five _ Richd Illingworth
